As a starter Millsap's teams have been ordinary and he doesn't turn up for the playoffs.

 

I tend to agree with this. Hopefully February will be the end of this and Morey is not just addicted to trading so we can let a core gradually grow together.

 

Or Bulls, but they already have Noah, so maybe not. But I do like the idea of trading for Deng.

 

Really hoping for Millsap, crossing my fingers.

As a starter Kevin Love's teams have been putrid.

And Milsap even though he shot poorly in his last playoff appearance averaged a double double with 2.5 blocks.

The time before that 18 and 8 on outstanding FG%

 

Enlighten me why others are discussing possible trade ideas then?

 

I hear your concern and I share it, but I have to wonder how much of this is being driven by Dwight. We all know and love our guys, but Dwight is just learning what these guys can and can't do. And lets face it, since he's been around the league and has seen what other players can do, he's (Dwight) probably in a better position to evaluate our talent than the typical Rocket fan is. We all know that essentially, Dwight is our Assistant GM. Trade scenarios are probably run by him to get reaction. Daryl knows in order to keep today's superstars happy, they have to be seen willing to make deals to add to teams that fall short. (i.e. Lebron in Cleveland 2010, or Kobe in Los Angeles circa 2006).

 

Because all the mod went asleep. clutch and bima and other have said to take your trade idea to the random trade section. This thread is for tweet and update :grin:

Given the reason for the deadline (ability to trade again) I pretty strongly expect it to be some combination of things that don't seem to fit on the team. If it is one big piece that seems to fit (I.e. Millsap) I will be shocked.

I'm thinking Morey is working at getting all his ducks in a row for a big piece that may come available at the deadline or this summer.

 

FWIW...it also says rumors and the guys I've mention are involved in the rumors, so yeah I'm right.. I'm in the guidelines.

Well I thought we had something special from last.....

Anyway anything can be call a rumor, but just post it and disscus and debate stuff in the random trade section. It a pain to read tweet and u have to look to 3 pages of gossip

 

More circumstance I think. Asik is forcing Morey's hand to deal him. Getting players he can flip is better than trading for guys on long term deals who weren't in his sights.

 

To be fair, the Asik situation isn't really of Morey's choosing. Asik reacting badly to not starting is a big part of what drives the timing. Without this, the team can at least just play basketball now and not go through the trade insanity until the February deadline when pretty much all the teams experience it.

In any case, I am hoping the return for the trade is an impact player that the team can use roll with into the playoffs like Millsap as oppose to "assets" (such as filler/expiring contract + picks) that requires further transactions to turn into useful impact players. But again, this isn't entirely up to Morey to choose-- the market is what the market is.

I like to play with the Trade Machine as much as anyone else, but right now I just want to watch my basketball team play basketball instead of viewing them like a stock portfolio and read a bunch of rumors about who is getting shopped.
