Salary is an issue though. No way the Rockets want Felton's contract, but he has to be included or you're looking at Bargnani or Lin involved.

The "trading Asik by December 19th so we can flip the new guy by the trade deadline" thing worries me a bit. Will this cause the team to be distracted for the next two months until the late February deadline finally passes?

Morey keep on talking about the team being in more of a position to have more stability given that they now have the stars, but it seems that the team is still just flipping assets.

 

Who would they be looking to get from NY??

This ain't some rookie GM we're talking about. It's Daryl Morey. For all we know this bush league stuff was tried on him back in 2007, and since then he's learned his lessons and adapted appropriately. What we are now looking at is one of the if not the best negotiator in the business. Talent evaluation is a different story, but when it comes to negotiations...I have absolute trust in him.

 

His RAPM is one of the highest in the game.

Deng the last 2 seasons hasn't been that great outside of his defense.

His 3 point shooting has been atrocious this season.

Milsap has been hovering around a PER of 20 last 2 season.

Millsap is a better rebounder, better shooter, better finisher, good overall defender, gets more steals, has more win shares, etc etc.

Both are also very clutch players

 

Shump is their only player with value, outside of Melo, but I'd prefer a little more than just Shump.

Seriously? It's called sarcasm, and if you read other post, all of these teams are said to possibly be involved. So I was just giving a scenario w/all the teams. Just like everyone else in this thread.

 

After this summer, Morey learned a great lesson from Dwight.

His sight is already set but he will entertain other offers, let them try to outbid each other with this so-and-so-made-this-offer-can-you-do-better? All those rumors are just diversion tactics.

In the beginning, Ferry probably asked Asik + Jones. The closer it gets to the deadline, the better the offers by other GM's.

Morey, "If you want to keep Horford happy, don't let this chance slip by, Danny Boy!"

Ferry, "I hate dealing with you," as he reluctantly agrees to Millsap + asset for Asik deal.
