Finally a tweet from a guy with a real track record. Glad to hear he thinks the Hawks are in the mix.

Millsap is a pretty obvious candidate for the Rockets...can help immediately, but even though he's not expiring it will be easy to flip a guy with his production and contract at the deadline.

Of course it would be a 3-team. Detroit needs PG and perimeter upgrades.

Monroe has a shot chart that is expanding to mid-range, and he can legitimately play some 4 and the high post. And back-up C easily.

In fact, I see Monroe progressing somewhat like LaMarcus Aldridge. Very skilled front court player, good passer, low/high post and elbow player, and improving mid-range to 20ft shooting.

He'd be my ideal target. Solves PF and C position with a young budding all-star. Get him and his bird rights too.

Les can pay up. And then renew Parsons later.

We'd have a key 7 man lineup of Beverley, Lin, Harden, Parsons, Monroe, Jones and Dwight. Cassipi should stay. Others we can try to fill around the holes with cheap veterans.

Monroe is young enough for us to build around after Dwight finishes this contract.

He did put the Hawks first? I remember
He would always list the rockets first on
Dwight? Maybe reading to much into it

i guess it boils down to how bad some fringe playoff teams want a legitimate shot at the playoffs....

will you risk a potential lottery pick to make the postseason?

hopefully morey finds a GM with his back against the wall and is wheeling & dealing for his job.

They're also 7.5M over the tax. A deal with the Bulls is tricky.

Lucas Nogueira and Mike Muscala are overseas stashes.

They have pick swaps with Brooklyn this coming draft and next. The 1st round draft pick next year could come in play (no way they're trading the 1st round this year).

Lucas Nogueira plus 1st round pick + Paul Millsap for Asik + DMo+ a 2nd round pick from the Rockets would be nice.

Well whatever he get for the rest of the year could be traded in February for more assets. He won't just stand pat to much. If we get some picks and a guy like Deng, we can turn him over in February to another team with additional package and get something back that might entice the Wolves next season. The Wolves know Love isn't returning even if Flip Saunders says otherwise.Deng and draft picks give us a better chance to get even better assets for the future.

I think Aldridge is now happy in Portland with. Very good core for the foreseeable future. He is not available or as available before the current resurgence of the Blazers.

Bosh could be a guy that we could go straight away this season if we get rid of Lin and Asiks salaries. We will have a lot of options.

I don't know much about Monroe, but something like this in principal:

    Asik to Charlotte
    MKG and Lin to Detroit
    Monroe to Houston

The Ben Gordon, Charlie V, and Rodney Stuckey contracts are floating out there to add filler to the deal.

I think Lin and MKG is the wing help Detroit needs, while Charlotte adds a win now piece in Asik. Houston takes a slight step back but I think Monroe is a great trade asset or long term growth piece.

If it's a big enough get I could see Lin being traded; but his back injury would be throwing a big monkey wrench into something like that...

Of course, they did send him to see a specialist. It does make one wonder whether the Dr's report is stopping in Houston or continuing on.

Horford and Afflalo would be my wildcard players that we go after.

Wildcard teams could be anyone in the league honestly looool.

I doubt Pistons are willing to pay 16+M for two PG's. They will want MKG but not Lin.

If Detroit can make Drummond and Monroe work, I assure you we can make Dwight and Monroe work.

Don't forget that Jones would still be starting. Drummond would be backup 4 AND backup 5. He would probably be like Lin where he plays 30mpg in a staggered orientation with Dwight, meaning there's about 10-15mpg where they are together on the floor. Monroe's done center before, so as a fit he might be even better than Millsap who no-way-Jose would ever play center. He has a good jump shot, and his post game is underrated. I would love to have Greg Monroe here.

Yuck. It would take more than just his broke jumper to get Asik.

The same rationale applies. Other teams may not be willing to give up a lot / much for someone that could leave as free agent.

    How about:

    Asik and DMo to Charlotte
    MKG to Detroit
    Monroe and Haywood to Houston
