    Rondo help on offense? LOL

Guy can barely hit FTs. We don't need more FT shooting problems.

At least it'll be Rondo pounding the ball endlessly and throwing it to Harden with 6 sec left on the shot clock.

Actually they can alternate possessions pounding it until 6 sec left and throw it to each other.

The other thing is, Rondo's playmaking requires players to move off the ball, off screens etc. Not sure if McHale's able to coach sets that get you open mid-range jump shots. Not sure if Harden's going to run around screens to get free for a mid-range jump shot. Lin's not good at that either, but he'll be traded for Rondo in this case.

And Rondo is just a borderline superstar at best. Definitely an all-star when healthy (at least in the East)

    Rondo brings in veteran leadership.

He will tell Harden and Howard "Let me teach you how to be champions", and they will buy in that.

    Or....we in deep ****

Harden would change his playstyle to play with Rondo. He has proven himself as an elite and championship caliber point guard.

Rondo in Houston would be dynamite.

If he's the same player he was before the ACL tear, that is.

I agree with you most times, but in this case, if the Celtics know Rondo won't stick around for rebuilding or mediocre teams, they could.

I just don't think Rondo's a fit with the Rockets. I mean people here on clutchfans are left with only the 'fit' argument on Beverley, and they want to bring in someone with even worse fit than Lin.

The Celtics can find a better deal than Lin/Asik if they are indeed shopping Rondo. However, if Houston agrees to take back Wallaces contract, that's a different story. I can see the Celtics taking Lin/Asik/Dmo for Rondo/Wallace.

Now the real question is, would Houston agree to that?

yep, perfect fit, if only they can each put one hand on the ball in the same time during the game.

They can't play together because they're both PGs.

Harden is at his best when he has the ball and is creating for himself and others. Rondo needs the ball and is not a threat from the 3 point line meaning teams can double Harden on penetration as well as Howard in the post.

I think he will be perfect here, u have to have a guy who cut to da basket besides hardeen...and he will be able to throw those lobs all da time to jones, howard, parsons and hardeen aswell...plus he is a good defender....I would take him in a heartbeat.

this is one of those cases where fit>talent. so while Rondo is better than Lin and Asik his individual talent would not fit causing us to win less games. Sometimes there is so much talent on a team that fit doesn't matter but it isn't the case with this particular situation.

I would love to have him but we then we would have to trade for more shooters, ruining chemistry

Rondo will average about 12/8 on this team, which would make him a mediocre PG.
In Boston, he had great catch-and-shoot guys like Ray Allen and KG. Here he gets ISO-Harden and ISO-Howard.

Gotta love it. 82 posts and already starting threads.

Rondo and Harden are both ball dominant guards. There is only one ball to go around. Simple enough?

They cAn play together if rondo has the same mentality he had in Boston. Paul pierce needed the ball in hands and rondo understood that he knew when to let pierce take it. Also harden won't need the ball as much because rondo can pass. Only thing that's a deal breaker is rondos arrogant attitude and punkish style. He might be a chemistry killer other then that he can co-exist. As far as I'm aware he's a pass first score later.

Please tell me the difference between Wade+LeBron and Harden+Rondo in terms of compatibility. They're all FACILITATORS. Wade and LeBron weren't the best shooters by any means, by they made it work by playing team defense and bringing the best out of each other. You could also argue that Wade and LeBron are both ball dominant players, but as long as they can create plays for others, it really doesn't matter whether or not they have the ball in their hands.

If we took away their personalities or our assumptions about their personalities or what we THINK might happen...we're left w/ their stats.

My main reason against Rondo? He's a bad shooter. The Rockets don't trade for bad shooters (unless you're apparently a center).
