I think most scenarios for Asik (probably even the ones being worked on by Morey right now) will involve more than just two teams. Asik could be moved to a third-party that brings perimeter scoring to Detroit. I'm not sure if Philly is willing to part with Turner, but he could be a prospect that might make the Pistons bite on a Monroe deal, or someone along that caliber.

Question is, do we want to be paying Monroe near the max if he'll be coming off the bench or will we look to flip him again around the deadline?

Morey wants expiring contracts to clear cap space for the summer of love in 2014.He won't take long term of multi year deals unless it involves someone like Rondo. Young just doesn't do it for him.Hawes and his expiring deal will. Getting rid of Lin and Asiks deals will be huge and having a clean cap space to operate will be enormous.

Jeff to Detroit would certainly make some sense, Young, not so much. Green's contract is pretty fair market value and I think he could be a good piece on their team.

Analyzing Daryl Morey trades is like making sausage.

The end result tastes great, but you're really better off NOT knowing how he did it...

Just be happy he's on YOUR side of the negotiating table.

This Jake Pavorsky fellow seems to think the mystery team trade would only involve 2 teams.

"Currently, the deal at the forefront of the Asik negotiations is a two team deal not involving Philadelphia, and sources have indicated he is likely to end up somewhere other than the Sixers"

Woj's tweet was useful because he didn't mention the Bulls which is where a lot of rumors were focused on today

Morey is known to always speak about Lebron James. Isn't his summer supposed to come up this year?

Wild Card is code for: we don't have a clue whats going on but we're gonna throw **** at the wall and see what sticks and since we said there was a wild card , we cant be discredited (even tho we didn't expose the wild card).

That's all anyone is doing at the moment .... throwing darts in the dark , after being spun around in circles. Morey has never been one to tell the rest of the world what he's doing .... until its already done.

    Bulls might be the wildcard.

    That is incorrect.

    1) Love is available "after" the 2014-15 season as a free agent. He could be available 'before' the end of the 2014-15 season as a trade asset.

    2) Morey gets expiring contracts for literally nothing. He doesn't like getting young players leave via contract expiry/free agency without getting something back for them. Patrick Patterson, Chase Budinger are examples.

So first, if Love is who we're targeting, we don't need expirings this year, we need them next year. If Love is who we're targeting, we also better have contracts that we can send to Minnesota as part of a trade before the end of 2014-15. And if we're just getting players back then, we should be getting players with more than half a season left in their contract, the type of assets Morey can flip to other teams for picks or players.

He's not a good fit with Dwight, so I would assume he would just be another asset. No mid-range game, and certainly doesn't have a 3 point shot.

Yup that is another legitimate team as well.

They are in the need of PG help as well.

I'm thinking the front runner is the two team
Deal which is with the Hawks. Paul Millsap
For Asik.. Morey is just trying to see if he can
    Get a better deal.

What else would Hawks have that we would
Want besides millsap? They ain't moving horford

Pretty obvious the fall back plan is Milsap, think that has been option 1b this whole time. Asik is the more valuable player but Milsap is a great player and could fit really nice next to Dwight. LOL at all those 3s lately, some told Paul to work on that aspect of his game.

Now Morey is doing his due diligence with deadline to repackage any assets in another trade this season coming up.

I'd be happy with Milsap and hopefully a mediocre back up C.
