I would love to get a deal done with the Bulls today, and somehow have Deng clear his physical and start tomorrow night. That would be amazing.

Not enough for Chicago. Deng is a good player (not a ghost contract like McGrady) and big expirings are valuable around the league. Lin would be a one year rental until Rose is back, and then the $15 million he's owed would probably make it a little difficult to trade him.

Dwight Howard: "D, where you goin?"

Kevin McHale: "Leave Morey alone, he is concentrating."

Dwight Howard: "What is with that red suit?"

Kevin McHale: "That is his raping suit. He wore it when he got Harden."

Daryl Morey: "Gentleman, it is raping season."

(Daryl walks off singing: "I'mmm about to rape somebody's ass")

Article out on reasons why Celtics may be looking to trade Green to Houston.

It is a Yahoo Sports Contributor Network article so yeah, but it is not claiming and specific trade scenarios, just reasons why they may want to unload him. I will spoiler so people can choose to read or not.

Despite reports to the contrary, there are several good reasons to believe Boston may be looking to deal Green:

    1. Boston would likely benefit from not making the playoffs and having a higher position in the 2014 NBA draft.

    2. Green is having a good season, averaging 16.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, a .453 shooting percentage, and 1.6 assists per game, but his numbers are still below what many analysts (myself included) expected from him before the season started. From what we have seen so far this season, there are good reasons to believe that Green will never become the superstar player many thought he could be.

    3. If the Celtics are thinking about trading Rajon Rondo, what is the point of keeping Jeff Green around?

    4. Omer Asik's three-year deal is set to end at the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, and his salary is set at $8.37 million. Jeff Green's contract is through the 2015-2016 season (assuming he takes his player option), and he is scheduled to earn $9.44 million over each of those two years. In short, Asik's deal is better for the rebuilding Celtics than Green's contract is.

    5. The Celtics are likely stuck with Gerald Wallace. Wallace wants more playing time, but his big contract and his age makes it difficult to move him without having to pay for a hefty part of the deal. It makes sense then that the Celtics may move Green, create more playing time for Wallace, and get a better defensive presence (and rebounder) in the post by attaining a player like Asik.

    6. Brad Stevens was known for his focus on defense and team offense at Butler. Think about how amazing the team defense would be if the Celtics were able to put Rondo, Asik, and Avery Bradley on the floor at the same time? It's a defensive coach's dream scenario.

    7. Houston general manager Daryl Morey and Houston coach Kevin McHale both have strong ties to the Boston Celtics organization and a personal connection to Danny Ainge.

Doesn't paint too pretty of a picture for any team that would be interested in picking him up in all honesty.

Luol Deng is putting up 20 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 apg with a 54% TS%.
    And he plays defense.

I think he is the best win now fit...

But he's older, might not stick around (or we might not be able to afford him), would have a reduced role on this team (relative to his current Chicago role) and doesn't really address a position of need... aside from allowing the team to really go all in on small ball with a Jones/Parsons/Deng rotation at PF... which would at least be interesting.

Hopefully something gets done today, can't wait, the anticipation is agonizing.

Hollinger must be a LOF because any team Lin is traded to is projected to win 4 more games.

Say it ain't so. I'm going to miss the Lin only fans, Lin only haters, Lin only fan only haters and the Lin only hater only haters.

I wonder how many of the people who claim to support the rockets on both sides will still stick around to see us make a run at the championship?

Also no more 90 page game threads?

Why is everyone assuming Chicago wants Lin? They're probably more than happy with their current situation as it stands. They have the 9th worst record in the NBA and it's only going to get worse.

This is their chance to tank for their next star & shot creator in a loaded draft class.

I can't think of any team that would want Lin. Not because of the player himself but because of his contract & the position he plays in. Scoring PG's are a dime a dozen in the League today.

Asik has great value just depends on how and when you choose to play him. If he was the center of the Miami Heat his impact would be greater to than team. Asik's limitations wouldn't matter as much. Rockets are building a championship team and he won't play backup center and he would be the perfect back up center. If Asik was as great as some of y'all made him out to be the trade would have been done by now.

Could Lin be packaged or a separate deal? Any rumors of him being moved?

I'd prefer to trust the guy who was the first to say that Dwight was going to Houston.
