Grantland (Zach Lowe) did an entire preseason series called "X-Files"

In said series he did a piece on Jeremy Lin and Luol Deng.

Other people he covered: Danny Granger, DeAndre Jordan, Dwyane Wade, Deron Williams, Jeremy Lamb, Kahwi Leonard

Okay, let's look at your list.

Duncan? Duh. Splitter? Better O, worse D.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

    Getting old.

Kanter ain't that great and Favors just got paid for being tall, athletic, and forced to stay in Salt Lake City.

    Agreed.

Without CP3 he'd be much less than what he is and paid much less.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

    Agreed.

Canker sore of a human being, got overpaid so the Bucks would look like they keep young talent.

But I think the point with Asik is, he anchors the team's D. Most of the other dudes give you more offense, but most teams are already covered in that regard.

    Liability on offence?

You should check stats of players in that list.

    Disagree with the following:

    Sanders
    Cousins
    Jordan
    Lopez
    Kanter
    Splitter

Asik's ELITE defense is worth more than what these guys provide.

My whole point of making that list was two-fold
    (1) He said I couldn't list 10 teams that Asik WOULD NOT start for. I think I have convinced you guys of at least 8. There are at least two other teams where players they have fit their system better than Asik like Splitter and Jordan who can go up for those Lobs. Asik can barely get off the ground.

    (2) On page 39, people were saying we should get TWO first round picks for Asik. I think that is absurd and then this guy challenged me. With that said, we will NOT get two first round picks for Asik. Sorry.

You'd rather have Omer Asik over Cousins or Sanders?

    Good lord....

Wait wait.... so if New Jersey called and said hey take Brook Lopez for Omer Asik, you would say NO.

or Sacremento Called and said take Cousins from us for Asik.... you would say no

This board overvalues our players. You really really do. Get over it! Like I said before, I we get two first round picks for Asik, I'll donate $25 and apologize to everyone that said we would.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

I hate how this board overvalues players. It hinders logical basketball discussion.

At this point, Sanders for sure. The guy has issues.

I wouldn't go that far, but when you consider that Asik's a center and Milsap is a PF, I'd rather have Asik, if we had 36 minutes to give him.

At this point, yes. Sanders appears to have turned into a disaster at this point. That contract may haunt them for years.

Cousins has had plenty of time to prove himself. To date, he a terrible defender, and is not a guy that has made his teammates better. If you buy into the idea that you must have elite paint defense to win, and the center is normally a big part of that, then no, I don't think Cousins can be THAT guy.

    Same goes for Lopez.

The truth is Jesus Christ. Morey's bringing us the Lord Almighty for two players and a draft pick.

And you base this on what? When Asik used to start, he was the most consistent player on the team. Double-double every game and great defense. Outside of Harden, Asik was the second most important player on the team. Without him, rockets wouldnt even be in the playoffs.
