Some say owners shy away from paying an extra $7.6M in salary to Lin (so over his cap amount, as many claim the extra $$$ deters owners), but would these same owners then NOT care about the financial benefits having Lin would entail for their team? The extra revenue generated from overseas attention, special deals, etc.? Granted, I agree that I think the amount a team owner actually gets from these things (due to revenue splits, etc.) is very low, but not more than a few million a year? I think we're overblowing the $7.6M then and underplaying the latter amount. Not EVERYTHING is revenue-split I imagine, and being the team with Lin must bring SOME financial benefits.

Just playing with some DocRocket Tweets:

"If ur boys r in checkmate, tell em 2 yell 'QUEEN to QUEENS-LEVEL 3', then clear the board with a forearm swiiipe! Walkoff!'

I searched "queen to queens-level 3". It's a quote from an episode of Star Trek. In the episode, a character disguised as Captain Kirk is asked to give a code phrase in response to "queen to queens-level 3".

I've been wondering about Kirk Hinrich myself. He's sat out the last 2 games with "back stiffness".

Chicago would love Lin for 4 reasons:

    1) They have a larger Chinese-American population than Houston. LA does too, Boston has almost as much as Houston.
    2) It's likely they will lose Deng for nothing in the off-season. Re-signing him would mean they will not be players for all-stars during the 2016 free agency.
    3) The possibility of Linsanity 2.0. Lin can be their short-term franchise player while they wait for Rose to return.
    4) They get a temporary replacement for D-Rose.

I'm surprised if Morey would even want Deng. He doesn't seem like a stats guy pick. Kind of a low shooting percentage, he just adds to our offensive ability doesn't help defense that much.

I just dont understand the need to get rid of Lin if we are trying to win it. I think Asik by himself can net us Deng. Essentially it seems like we are trading Lin for a 1st round pick if the rumors are true. Why are we trading our only viable playmaker at the PG position? Can it not effing wait till next year? And if we are trading both Lin and Asik, would it not benefit us to get back another big who can play defense?

Heres a better question, can Morey stop tinkering for a half season and let the team play together and grow from there? Is it too much to effing ask?

Short term help who is a lockdown wing defender who can hit the 3 ball as well.By febuary we can either flip him off for a big name player with an additional packiage like picks or players or just let him walk and have enough to offer the max to someone like Bosh.

Man I didn't realize how much that guy has fallen off. He probably really does have back stiffness.

If Morey's really thinking to trade Deng in February after acquiring him in December, I'm going to lose my wits. Welcome to ADHD GMing.

I feel like if we don't get another big man back this whole thing is a wash. Especially if we give up Lin AND Asik up.

By getting rid of Lins 8 million cap hit and Asik's 14, it paves the way for us to go after a max free agent assuming we let Deng walk and we get an additional conditional 1st rounder. We get a clean cap slate to go to work.

no no I'm sure having only one legitimate big defender will help us VASTLY during the playoffs. It isn't like things get more physical in April.

Can we go back to imposing the unwritten rules of the Dwight saga, where if the tweet is more than ____ old, we don't post it? Let's fill in the blank with an hour.

Asik and Lin have the same cap hit. Their contacts were structured the exact same way.
