    3 team trade!

Tell me how bad it is! I kinda like it, we reunite Dwight with former teammates Ryan Anderson and Courtney Lee.

I will miss Asik, and appreciate how hard he competed every game last season. However, I would be lying if I said I wanted to see the team he is traded to succeed. I hope they miss the playoffs. I don't want him to do bad, just his team. He should regret leaving the Rockets.

    Nobody wants him now.

Don't you realize that Morey would have traded Asik regardless to how he acted upon Dwight's arrival? The Rockets would be a second round exit team, at best, with Asik on the roster. He needs to get moved for pieces, simple as that.

God I hope so. I've always felt Asik was worth way more to this team than the public perception (its just insane to me that there are people that think Ryan Anderson is a better player), but I didn't think Morey had much leverage this time around so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Assuming there is an ounce of truth the these tweets then of course GMs are going to say they're not interested in Asik and that their players are being shopped. They know they have until the 19th to put in their offer and they KNOW Morey will use their offer now to try and get a better one from other teams. This will just create a bidding war much sooner than there needs to be one, and they want him for as cheap as possible. Every team is "uninterested" until the 19th.

What does this have to do with what I said though? What's wrong with missing Asik?

    Good post.

IMO the media and so-called experts are trying to dumb down Asik's value. Knowledgeable fans will recognize that the non-Diva Asik is one of the best defensive centers for the past 10 years.

Morey is patient and he will get decent return for him.

I only regret that things did not work out. A motivated Asik coupled with Howard would have given us 48 minutes of paint protection and great defense against the likes of LMA and Duncan. Damn, I am pissed for what could have been.

yea it hurts, but you dont want that kind of person on your team. A person that is blind to the fact that there is something special in the works, and that everyone has to sacrifice here and there to achieve basketball greatness. Not to mention gettin paid almost $70,000 a game. Asik is a Bi*tch, no place for people like him on the Rockets.

Setting this early season deadline was the most brilliant move, Rockets will cause other teams who expected to contend to panic and likely overreach for Asik.

Teams that are already defensive minded like the bobcats will find him very attractive. Put him next to big AL Jefferson and you have a big who can hide Jeffersons defensive weaknesses but he also helps the perimeter defenders. The Bobcats are already one of the better defensive teams in the Nba under our former assistant under Jvg in Clifford and a guy like Asik just takes them into the very good status in the East.

Boston would become legit with Asik as they would have two guard dogs on the perimeter and an elite rim protector under the bucket.GM worth their salt will consider all these and come the 19th will be competing and raising the stakes to beat each others offers.morey will wait it out to raise the stakes. Poker at it's finest.

Rondo - Best defensive PG in the NBA
Bradley - Top 3 defensive SG in the NBA
    Lee - good-great defender
    Sullinger - excellent defender
Asik - Top 2 defensive center in the NBA

Wallace can help out against Durant and LeBron (not like they'd win those games anyways), but who knows.

Their defense and rebounding easily makes them a top 5 team in the East. Teams would have trouble scoring over 80-82 points against this squad. If they keep Green (I guess they would trade picks) then they would be 3rd in the East with the Bulls out. Crawford, Humphries, and Bass are all underrated.

On paper maybe.... The Rockets should be at least a Top 10 defensive team and contender. We are slightly behind.

Lee was never great; it's hard to be as a SG-SF wing defender when you are only 6'5 yourself and your wingspan isn't freakish like a Batum or something.

Sullinger isn't even above average on defense if you ask me. Brandon Bass is probably better than him.

I wonder who was Moreys moving up target in the 2012 draft was? Could he play for Charlotte? Is his initials MKG?

Unless we get Deng (for Lin and Asik), or even Millsap (for Asik) then the Rockets will be a second round exit team with or without a trade. I doubt we get anyone who is there level (which is close to fair value for Asik) to be honest.

Sullinger is underrated defensively. He is at least good-great and Lee is good against shooting guards 6'6" and under. Their rebounding, along with their defense of course, is what would put them over the top in the East. They can run and score on the break and create a ton of offense off of defense.
