That would be pretty silly, considering an East team could easily flip him to the West before the trade DL anyway.

Charlotte does have some great pieces, high draft picks and young players drafted in the lottery with upside and manageable contracts. I have a feeling this is going to end up like the Lowry trade where we get a pick and an expiring and trade that plus other "assets" for a legit player a la LOVE.

Where did you find that article? Sounds like Asik was doing a solid for his country. If his coach told him to do that at the end of the game then I don't blame him. He won't let down his entire team, coach and country after he was given orders to do what he did.

I agree. I hope Morey doesn't make this trade for this season and continues making moves that are best for the team. I know a lot of fans are short sighted and they think we are in win now mode with the youngest team in the league and a window of several seasons to compete.

Hawes would be a rental and Jason Smith is the much better option because we all know Hawes is just putting up numbers on a bad team to get paid. He doesn't care about winning. He's playing for stats.

Why would Miami want Young when they have Beasley, Lewis, and Bosh? Beasley is playing well in Miami for less than than an 8th of Young's contract this season. Miami would NEVER take on Young's deal with how much LT they have to pay.

cyberx is legit, DocRocket -- not so much. Also, there was more than a handful of posters on ClutchFans saying Howard would end up in Houston long before both of them (and thousands saying he would not and they didn't want him).

Let's just say Miami is not making ANY trades with anyone. They don't want to trade with contenders and most teams don't want to trade with them.

Unless they want to break down Bosh for cheap role players, Miami would never trade with us. Asik, Parsons, and Lin's contracts would help them with the LT situation they are in, but that's less than <0.01%. If they trade Bosh and they end up losing in the finals then LeBron would think of leaving because they broke up something over money.

How obvious was it that doc rocket was saying watch out Miami meaning rockets were making deals to contend for a title

Too many posters here were not fans long enough to know much about the Rockets before 2012. It was a lay up drill for opposing teams. In the 4th quarter teams would either get two free throws or a lay up every time down the floor. Dalembert didn't change it much, Hayes could lock down his man, but Asik was big enough to clog up the paint and competed hard enough to put a stop to it. Howard is mobile enough to actually contest the elites like Chris Paul and Tony Parker.

Just read the posts. It looks several posters understand how difficult it is to land a true center and that their are not many in the NBA capable of giving you a double-double every night while locking down opposing teams centers and out-rebounding them.

Cleveland could be interesting... could they of given up on Waiters or Bennett yet?

Methinks the average fan is just as dumb as before. Like the Zach Lowe article pointed out, it really takes a team stats-oriented to give you the kind of true assessment about Omer Asik's value.

Ya'll will be surprise at the haul we take back for him. It'll feel like we just traded away a mini-superstar. Christmas is gonna come early this year folks. That's right. James Bond style.

I think these East PF's are the most realistic. I put bullets by the ones I think make the most sense. This is just the main player in the deal. Of course their will likely be picks, other teams and fillers in the deal also.

    My guess:
Deal will involve Paul Pierce. Not sure who gets him though.

Considering Asik is probably the best positional interior defensive force in the league who rarely if ever gets beat on the backdown moves or falls for pump fakes and is an elite rim protector if not the best in the league with Dwight, his value goes just beyond stats.

The guy will automatically will transform you're interior defense for the better with scoring a point or even blocking a shot. He will shave points of the opposing teams scores by just stepping on the damn court. You ask any GM when you are building a ball club, what is one of the most important things to get and more then likely he would say a elite rim protector would be an great asset.

Morey knows this and if Asik had behaved and not pouted we could have got a mega deal in return but we still should have a good haul for him nonetheless.

A-freaking-men to that. And Morey definitely knows this and so do the other GMs around the league so we'll get a nice nice return for him.
