    I think the self-imposed deadline works even better since it at least represents something (so players can be flipped at the deadline).

    Your statement just shows how horrible the big men in the NBA are these days. Asik is VERY limited offensively and only a decent defender. He is a plus rebounder though.

    Just checked out hawks fans forum and there pretty open to the asik millsap swap. I guess it shows good centers are hard to come by and shows why rockets have high expectations for the asik trade

    This is what I am afraid of-- that there is no good offer on the table for Asik. And if so, either Morey has to make a sucky trade now or be exposed as a fraud when the "deadline" passes without a deal.

    Fire Morey for mismanaging the Omer situation. :mad:

    There is about 5-6 diffrent asik threads read most for best results. Hawk fans are pretty much convinced finding a center better then asik will be difficult if not impossible http://hawksquawk.net/community/forum/1-homecourt/

    I don't feel as if not sticking to the deadline is the worst thing in the world in that scenario. The worst thing that happens in that scenario is that Morey's mind games are exposed a bit and he has less flexibility in future trades. Not the end of the world, though. I think hed do that before taking a less than stellar deal. All hes got to say is things fell apart.

    I dare you to name 5 big men who are better man-to-man defenders than Asik.

    He may not get tons of blocks per game, but he is way above "decent" level.
