But Hawes would get minutes with Howard also, so he wouldn't be just a backup center.

Surprised to not hear anything about the Nuggets talking to Morey or being involved. If its between taking crappy contracts with mediocre players and at least getting a few decent young players like Mozgov & Fournier or maybe talking to the Nuggets about Gallo with the Rocket still having up to 3 first rounders to offer for a stud like that.

While trading for Gallo in a monster deal like that seems unlikely, you'd have to think that they could at least have a chat about some of their pieces. Seems to be much more value on their team IMO.

Just so I'm clear, I did say that Hawes would help, and I do think he'd fit in well. However him alone isn't going to all the sudden make this team roll over Miami, and Indiana on back to back nights or anything.

He adds both a more than capable backup to Dwight (even though the team would probably struggle if Dwight had to miss multiple games), has skills that fit in, and can help, and a deal with him and assuming a good draft pick means that the Rockets will be players in later deals where they will be in much better shape to make a deal revolved around draft picks, expirings, young talent, & maybe a solid rotation player (some might say that is Lin).

I'm all for trading for Hawes & a first rounder if its between that and a player like Jeff Green, or (the overpaid Patrick Patterson with no 3) Brandon Bass.

This deal puts them in great position moving forward to upgrade the roster further.

I know your point I understand what your saying and I'm saying the same thing about green he's not our savior but I'm just looking at who would I rather have on this team forget about contracts and future deals if I had a team I would rather want green than hawes
    Green>hawes
And again sorry for the run on sentence just typing away again

Do people really think we will get a player AND two first round picks from a team for just Asik?

My god people! If morey gets TWO first round picks and a player for only Asik, I will donate $25 to the jar.

Tell us it's gonna happen Wednesday or Thursday, well, we're waiting on pins and needles on a Monday. Just in case, right? :)

I guess Morey is hoping a GM will change their mind over the next 48 hours.

"Just Asik" is a starting center in almost every NBA team. Would you like to see him traded for cabbages?

The Rockets need to focus solely on Philly. Try to sweeten that deal as much as possible to get them to trade both Hawes and Turner to Houston.
    Parsons??
Again i say, if necessary, forget the pick. Get them both in Rockets red.

The self-imposed deadline is brilliant, as it is a chance to create panic amongst GMs, with the hope of inciting a thievery by Morey. The leaking to the press that there is a deal in place, and that Morey is looking for something better only furthers this notion. Morey is a master of the game. In reality, he may not even have something he likes just yet.

I think you'd agree that these are some of the best moments of being a fan.

Playoffs and titles come first, but after that, big roster moves and speculation to try to get in the mind of the front office is the best past time. And in basketball, every player on the roster can be a huge difference, much different than baseball or football (takes years for prospects and rarely do big names move, respectively).
