I wouldn't mind him on this team because he doesn't have to be a #1 or #2 option. On given nights he wouldn't have to be #3 option with Parsons here. I know that goes for every trade target we're looking at but I just like Jeff Green because of his potential to make a dynamic game changing play when he's on the floor. And he drives with aggression, looking to posterize!

A bunch of people are over rating hawes and I just don't understand why can somebody post his stats I wonder what his best year was and hawes will not make any of the teams in the west more afraid of us and most teams in the west will not even be in high alert after we get him

Because here we can afford some inconsistency. It's the flashes of brilliance that are intriguing.

And also, playing here with two stars he might thrive as the third guy.

And they would finish near the botton in the west. Shows how bad the East is outside of the Heat and the Pacers.

YouTube generation. The guy is athletic, can dunk, and has games where he gets hot. You see some highlights and you think woah.. this dude looks like a stud… and then you actually sit down and watch a game and its like…. meh. Guy hasn't progressed much at all since his days in OKC, has had some unfortunately scary heart problems, and carries around an albatross contract.

Daryl Morey WILL NOT trade for Jeff Green. That's pretty much a guarantee if I'll ever make one. If he does its because everything else in the trade was just too good to pass up.

i like the idea of bass being here. Ater seeing how hard he played against the heat when they should have actually beat them 2 years back, the guy was impressive.

Man I think you and I have the same brain. I just thought this exact post while reading through and seeing people gawk over him. Dude is athletic but as inconsistent as free money.

I agree he's a bit overrated here, but he COULD help at times. The biggest positive with him would seem to be his 3 point shooting, but look at his stats from previous years, from 2009 to 2012 for 3 seasons he shot under 30% from 3. This year he's shooting 44%. Something tells me he is streaky at best from 3. Not necessarily someone you can totally bank on hitting consistently.

Also his defense is pretty porous even though every once in awhile he'll shut down his man one-on-one.

Spencer Hawes IMO is the big man version of Francisco Garcia.

Still I think he'd fit in well and have big games every once awhile that could help. If Dwight had to sit out an extended number of games though we'd basically be screwed.

No but the expiring contract and draft pick you'd hope to get with him in the deal could be later in February.

Like I said earlier, he'd help every once in awhile, but not someone whose going to make a big impact every night.

He'd be a solid backup for Dwight if he accepted the role. Not interested in Green. Simmons would love to see the Celtics dump his contract, and I hope it's not dumped on us.

You don't get a center for his 3 point shooting. That's just a bonus - as in, he's a 5 who can occasionally drop a 3 on you. But he has enough range to be a threat who has to be minded.

I'd like Hawes for his ability to play 4 with Dwight and 5 when Dwight's sitting. Asik was never a 4 and couldn't play it to save his life. I could actually see TT work with someone with Hawes' skills.

Your bringing up 3pt shooting stats for a center save it everything I said about green has to do what a 3 or 4 is suppose to do if we get a center I'm not concerned with his 3pt shot tell me about hawes rebounding blocking or altering shots his help defense his pick and roll defense his pick and roll or pick and pop offense we don't need much from a back up center we need somebody who can defend block shots and rebound and that's it and hawes don't do that

I don't believe Hawes' shooting is an anomaly. I think he turned the corner with his stroke from distance and I think he'll maintain a 36-40% ration going forward. He's a shooter. He's a high poster shooting center. And he's very good at it. And with coaching discouraging the midrange jumper and encouraging the 3-ball stroke he's broken out.

Offensively Hawes is a great fit, from his spacing and shooting to his passing to his ability to take it inside and use his post-up moves.

Now defensively....he's very pedestrian. Not the guy we need in the middle defensively when Dwight goes to the bench. We'll still need a backup stopper.

But Hawes is everything offensively that we have dreamed about DMo becoming.
