Poor Seattle, getting used as leverage every time a team will want a new stadium.

Yep.... this is just leverage for a new stadium. I would like to see a team move to Seattle and then move the Pelicans to the East. Milwaukee and their cheap owners need to give it up.

Not sure, but I think they are ribbing Woj (or reports in general) that the Kings were already on their way to Seattle.

If that's the case, then that's pretty awesome. :)

    Basically that.

Wojnarowski reported it was "1st and goal at the one yard line".

Dictator Stern gave OKC a team for this very leverage. I had thought it was a, "look, your team could end up in somewhere like Oklahoma if you don't refurbish your arena." But, the threat of a team returning to Seattle is much more palpable.

    Screw Dat.

Bucks move to Seattle. Rockets move to the East.

I'm thinking that Washington goes to the Central divison and Rockets to the Southeast division. Then the Southeast becomes Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando and the Rockets. The Central becomes Indiana, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and Washington.

And you end up with a Houston Rockets happy dance as they lock in a play off spot for the next 25 or so years...

doubt that would happen memphis is further east than the rockets - they would be the first team to go east -- if not memphis then new orleans for sure

Memphis moves to east, OKC to southwest conference, Seattle back to their own conference

Just do it, Milwaukee, a suburb of Chicago, already has the Bulls.

Because it makes the most sense geographically?
Actually, scratch that, we wouldn't want that, but it'd make sense.

As the incoming commissioner is about to find out, divisions are largely useless. When you have divisions as bad as the Atlantic about to claim a Top 4 seed because "that's the way it's always been done," you have a problem. Any move to Seattle would force an existing Western team to move to the East.

To the people saying Houston should move: really? Both Memphis and New Orleans are further east than Houston. The homer argument won't fly beyond this BBS.

But, I don't see any way the Bucks move without Senator Kohl dying. He's remained steadfast in keeping the team in Milwaukee and, unlike the Maloofs, he isn't broke and has deep ties to the state of Wisconsin. He'll work as hard as he can to keep the Bucks in Milwaukee. Albeit, "working hard" doesn't mean a thing if it means fleecing taxpayers for arena funds. That's easy money.
