Anybody here who has had back spasms before... can you explain what it is like? Is it the muscle tensing up like a charlie horse? What exactly is it and what does it feel like?
Why wouldn't you be able to? Howard historically other than that year that needed back surgery has been pretty injury free, the dude's a truck.
Best thing to do is sit all of those guys out against the Bulls. It'll give them at least 4 days to rest before they play the Pacers and Pistons back to back on the road.
I had back spasm. Don't know if its the same thing they are going through though. Basically my core was super weak, so to compensate for that my Quadratus lumborum had to go into overdrive to help out and it just couldnt take the workload. They spasmed and locked up. Had to strengthen my core along with my QL. A lot of planks and side planks. Also foam rolling it to loosen it back up. A lot of physical therapy.
I get them occasionally, but it's not a long-lasting thing for me.... maybe 30 seconds to a minute, and it passes. For me, it's a sudden, sharp, take-your-breath-away kind of pain usually preceded by bending or leaning a certain way, and I can't move until it passes. Last one I had was Saturday, when I found myself bent over and unable to move for about a minute in the parking lot of Applebee's lol. I can't imagine having them on a super consistent basis, like it sounds like these guys are.
Mark Berman: Kelvin Sampson says James Harden's sprained ankle is not as bad as initially thought and it wouldn't shock him if he played Wednesday Twitter @MarkBermanFox26
I have had lower back spasms before and I can honestly say that until you actually experience them for yourself it is really hard to put the amount of pain you feel into words that can accurately describe it. The only way I can think of to describe it is by picturing an exposed nerve and then picture a knife stabbing that exposed nerve. The pain is constant and it is very painful when you are sitting for extended periods of time. I feel for these dudes, its hard to walk let alone run and play intense full court ball. I have no idea how Parsons is able to do it...
Asik + Lin for Rondo, Parsons + Jones + Smith for LeBron, The rest of the bench for Love, Harden stays because his injury is legit. Houston wins 2014 Championship with big 5 playing 48 minutes each game!
I had something when I was younger that I never went to the doctor for. I got fouled hard one time and it gave me back pain. From that point on for months my core area would feel weak and I had a bad pain in my lower back. Sometimes the pain would shoot to my legs and it would make me fall to my knees because my legs would basically give out. Terrible pain. I ended up taking the entire summer off from doing anything, and it went away. I always assumed it was a badly pinched nerve or something.
I'd rather harden doesn't play. I don't care if we are the 8th seed on the playoffs as long as we get there healthy.
The muscle spasms I've had were a result of a pinched nerve. The muscles spasm to protect the inflamed area around the nerve. Required lots of physical therapy to be able to loosen up enough to get around. I found it most comfortable to either stand or lie flat. Sitting for any period of time was painful. Then getting up or getting down hurt too. Once got hit with a bad spasm just by reaching the wrong way to pick up a pen. Really feel for our guys.
I hear that happens to people with nice mameries, need pics to give a accurate diagnosis of said problem. I kiid I kiid QT
Don't understand Lin's back spasms all of a sudden? Hope he's not on the trading block..but wouldn't be surprised with his all of a sudden "back spams"
yewww nooooo. Bad enough watching Greg Smith get his dislocated finger lined up by Keith Jones last night. Enough of that yuck
