Rumor is Walmart will be getting their biggest shipment yet on 12/15 @ 8am (sunday), be there if you want one. Last night I spent my first extended period using remote play through my Vita, I have to say I am extremely impressed. I enjoyed remote play on the Wii U, but this kills it -- the screen is amazing on the Vita in comparison. There was virtually no delay, and the few hiccups that did occur could have been due to my weak router, or my location (in a completely different room in bed). I played Knack primarily, but tried all of the apps. As funny as it is, I couldn't believe I was controlling my PS4 through it. As for Knack (I'm on the second chapter), so far it's quite enjoyable. It's not a very deep game, but Knack was definitely made for remote play it's amazing. Seeing those graphics running through the Vita is a must see, the more I play my PS4 the more I love it.
Okay this is funny too, I was just thinking last night there's a lot of indie games that I'd like to play on my Vita or PS4, but I don't like the idea of buying them twice. I didn't realize this "cross buy" feature excited, nor that most of these major indie games support it. That's awesome! They just sold some more indie games right there.
Warframe got an update today. Mostly seems to add/fix stuff from the update they made for the PC a few weeks ago (new damage system, codex system, new weapons, new Warframe, etc.). Some things are still broken (Star Chart navigation).
Per Best Buy rep (Humble), next shipment for PS4 will be in January. Sony dropped the ball on inventory, the demand is high but no supply.
A lot of stores are selling PS4s this weekend IIRC. I don't know about the Houston area, but it sounded like it was a national thing. Not sure about Best Buy though. Amazon and several other retailers seemed like they got some PS4s in stock recently though (all now sold out of course). Sony is shipping these things to like 40 countries, so they're not going to be able to meet demand very easily. They do seem to be shipping the majority of the systems to the US (and I guess 1.5M-2M might be possible by year's end?), but you can only ship so many here. edit: I want to say Amazon had some in stock in the last few days or so, but looks like they sold out of 12K of them last week (sold in ~27 minutes). Not sure if I'm remembering it wrong, and it was just the one shipment, or if Amazon had some more this week, in addition to those original 12K.
I was wrong. It is actually closer to 50: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/12/13/ps4-available-in-48-countries-from-today/ Not including any units they might be trying to hold back for Japan's launch in early 2014. Though I don't really know how many systems some of those countries are getting. They cost like $1850 in Brazil, and I don't think it is exactly lighting the world on fire there (guess why?). As I said, US is likely getting the vast majority of the systems they're producing. The UK and a few other countries are also getting a decent amount. Imagine what supply is like in the other 40ish countries.
It will benefit people from other countries to purchase it through ebay than, still need to factor in the currency exchange.
Which Walmart? I know the Best Buy in Austin closest to the UT campus is expecting a shipment tomorrow, but I'm already back in Houston.
For those looking for a PS4,http://www.walmart.com/ip/Playstati...6340062129543&veh=aff&wmlspartner=lw9MynSeamY Show inventory for your local walmart.
The online inventory isn't accurate. Just went to my local Wal-Mart, and they said they were sold out by 10:30 this morning. Seclusion was right on the money on the rumor.
Don't know how long this will stay in stock: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/playstation-4-500gb/8240103.p There are a few bundles they have too.
Last week, I have a friend who works at Toys R' us and he told me Wal-Mart was expecting a huge shipment of PS4's. He said to not bother calling walmart over the phone, they would just tell you they dont have one. But instead, go over there and ask for one in person. I went to the one in Pasadena and sure enough they had it. Out of curiousity, I asked how many they had? And he said they had "plenty". This was last wednesday, so i'm pretty sure they are all sold out by now.
Looking for casual friends. Nothing too serious. Wait, what are we talking about? Spoiler NSFW: Language Username: roxnostalgia
