Size is not Jones' issue, experience is. Still too green to fully rely on him if you want to be a contending team this year.

Same issue applies to many other members of the rotation, but to a lesser extent. The team is still rather inexperienced compared to most contenders. Howard and Garcia are the only true "veterans" on the squad, and Garcia is kind of a fringe rotation guy. The rest of the guys, even Harden, are trying to grow and taking on new responsibilities.

Can really use a good veteran playing the role that David West plays for the Pacers.

#1 There is nothing wrong with the Rockets "playbook" and if Rondo joined the Rockets he would have to learn to play the way the Rockets do.

#2 Rondo's lack of a perimeter game would really hurt what the Rockets do as a team on offense. While it is true that Rondo is a great facilitator, that is not the philosophy the Rockets preach. It is important that all the players on the perimeter be able to hit long range shots.

#3 Do you want Howard and Rondo both possibly going to the line at the end of games?

If the Rockets get Rondo I will be excited because it means Morey believes his style of play can meld with the Rockets. Having said that, I don't think it is a good match. Boston will want more than Morey will be willing to give up.

Do you seriously believe that Green is as good as Parsons?

And that vet is _______ ? Is Milsap West in the locker room? I dunno.

West is West because he brings it on the floor and off. Who else is David West?

Parsons is overrated and Green is underrated. Parsons is definitely the better pick now but that could change. Don't know how long Parsons will last health wise.

    For giggles:

There's a dude who posts every few days in this forum, claims to be an insider (sixer jones or something like that).

If he's a troll, at least he makes the permutations of his "inside information" sound credible and consistent.

I'm not claiming this guy is legit, maybe I'm just calling out the "I call b.s." posters here, but since we're all flogging a dying horse until an actual trade goes down, wtf, here goes:

As you well know if your any kind of NBA fan the Celts have thrown a major monkey wrench into our Thad/Asik deal. Who two weeks ago listed them as the top destination for him..ME...

Right now it looks to be a Bass/Green for him with no picks involved..

I'm also hearing rumbles of a Lin/Asik for Rondo and the Nets 15' number one. Remember that one about went down in August.

Hinkie WILL NOT give any picks and Ainge will. That will be the deciding factor.

I expect the Lin/Rondo one to go down...We should know by Thursday. All other teams have faded away from this deal except Atlanta who wants Asik according to my team source(s).

    ---------------------------------------------------------

Frankly, I don't know. Getting the 2015 pick? I could see that. But there'd have to be more moving parts here.

And it doesn't jibe with Feigen's "three-team complicated" etc etc.

Anyway, as I said, just for giggles, if nothing else.

We still need a Starting Point Guard! We need a back up Shooting Guard!
We also need a new Coach, one who has a play book.
Jones needs time to develop as our Power Forward.Y :p

Guy we aren't trading Chandler Parsons. Why do you keep trying?

Also, the same line of reasoning that applies to Jeff Green most assuredly applies to Thad Young and Brandon Bass. I don't know why you guys keep bringing up Brandon Bass. His contract is a boat anchor. You can't trade Bass without giving up assets to get rid of him. He has negative trade value. As for Green and Young...they simply aren't good enough to trade for. If we trade for them it's because we are going to flip them and the deal has already been agreed to.

ON another note the reported trade rumor of Jason Thompson and Marcus Thornton being sent out with McLemore/picks for Rondo.......that's a salary dump for Sacramento along with getting back a superstar. Are you kidding me? Even if Boston sent back Wallace with Rondo (probably a requirement of any Rondo deal) that deal still leaves Boston stuck with 2 more boat anchor deals in Thompson/Thornton to go along with Lee's deal.

Oh, and those Sac picks??? They'll be a perennial playoff team with Rondo/Cousins/Gay/Williams. Picks will be lower third of the first round. Blah.

I'm pretty open for Mavs-76ers-Rockets trade.

Take Shawn Marion with protected 1st rounder (take protected 2016y pick, many talents may be there) from 76ers, Mavs gets Spencer Hawes with late 2nd rounder from Rockets, 76ers gets Omer Asik.

I don't see Ainge throwing what could be a very good Nets pick PLUS Rondo for Lin and Asik.

Hmmm...Ainge seems way too smart for that deal..

I really don't want Bass and Green. Don't want those contracts. Bass' contract is a bit unmovable. It would take a pick to move him. Green's contract isn't really a bargain either. It's fair value for his production but factor in his past health issues and it's not really an asset either. I'd much prefer an expiring/picks/youth type deal if it's out there. Hawes plus a pick would be fine but looks like Philly is resisting giving up the pick. Expirings/picks/young players on rookie deals is how Morey got Harden. The next star player will likely be moved for those type assets too.

    David Aldridge:

Keep hearing the Hawks are still in the mix for Asik; can only assume Paul Millsap, with that very attractive two-year, $19 milion deal, would be a primary chip -- and Millsap has shown an ability to step out and hit the three this season; he's made 13 of his last 28 beyond the arc

    ...

Things will also improve when Morey finalizes the Asik deal and brings in another piece that can help up front. A source confirmed Sunday that Boston may be trying to work its way into the deal, as ESPN.com reported. But many around the league continue to believe Morey has a deal in place, likely with Philadelphia, either for forward Thaddeus Young or center Spencer Hawes, and is looking to see if anyone will sweeten the deal.

If this crap went down it would be the most lopsided trade ever. We would be the ones throwing in picks. It would have to be Asik, Lin, our first, and probably a future first as well for Rondo, Green, and Bass. If that happens we're all in. Would be surprising for sure.

Zach could also help us in 2 ways...

    1) That low post presence we need in a big man that want back down.
    2) Teach TJ...

so his decline would not be as hard to take. TJ is doing a great job, but you can see in some games we need that Vet presence such as a Zach or Milsap.

Then again, very few of us haven't been surprised by what Morey has been capable of pulling off.

Who's gonna score on a Rondo/Bev PG tandem?

    Do it Morey.

And I agree that Green is underrated and Parsons is overrated. Don't get me wrong, I love Parsons but Green and Bass solves a lot of Houston's problems. Green has superior defense and can guard multiple positions and Bass can fill in at C.

Either deal works. And if it's a Green/Bass deal we get a pick.

    Forget Young
