Sixers rebound better with him off the floor.

Good shooter for a big, but if you wanted that might as well just play Terrence Jones at C some more.

Hawes is having a good quarter season statistically on a bad team after career long mediocrity. Does not look like the kind of guy who gives Morey an erection.

At least Hawes is a solid shot blocker. Averages 1.7 a game, the same as Dwight...

I don't think Danny Ainge would give up Green for Asik. I wouldn't. I think your over estimating his worth. How about we give you Kris Humphries and a 2015 first rounder for Asik. BTW, Humphries contract expires at the end of this year so it helps your cap space.

The people that think Asik for Green isn't a good deal are a bunch of homers, heck we may have to give up some more for him. He can shoot the 3 very well, elite wing defender, can defend multiple positions. He would easily be our best defender on the wing once he's here.

We need a wing defender on this team badly. If we don't solve that need, we will only hover around as pretenders.

He probably won't accept the player option too leaving us money to sign Parsons. If he does accept it, he will be a pretty valuable expiring contract.

Some of you guy's are underrating how good Jeff Green is. You guys think his offensive game is bad? He's literally their only option on offense. He has no true playmaker setting him up for easy shots.

If we trade for him, we can slide Parsons over to the PF.

Improves our wing defense, maintains our 3 point shooting, strengthens our bench.

He's been on the trade block forever. He's in the final year of his deal and the Bulls are not resigning him and with Rose out the Bulls are looking to rebuild. Classic case of dump an expiring vet for what you can get before he leaves for nothing with the added bonus of tanking.

    He'd be our Iguodala.

    Asik

I don't think Danny is giving Green for Asik nor would I. Maybe 2015 first round pick we got from LA Clippers and Kris Humphries and his expiring contract. Maybe Bass.

Do you realize that Green is owed 18.4 million for 2 more years? How would the Rockets resign Parsons? Not only that, but Parsons/Green would not be able to guard Duncan/Griffin/Aldridge.

I do like Green though, but he doesn't make much sense for this team.

From a stat-head (aka Daryl Morey) perspective:

According to Feigen a deal involving Thad would involve a third team. Thad is likely to be flipped elsewhere.

This would be a nice lineup.

    Beverley
    Harden
    Turner
    Parsons
    Howard

You guys that want Jeff Green should be careful what you wish for.

From my memory, when Brandon Bass played next to Dwight in Orlando, it didn't work out very well.

Morey: Just say no to Jeff Green and Brandon Bass unless the Celts hand over some delicious draft picks.

My impression from reading the Stein piece is that he is reporting speculations he heard from his "sources" in the NBA, meaning likely front office/scout types from various teams. Not sure whether any of them have any personal knowledge as to the particulars of any trades that are being discussed, or certainly any trades that are being discussed seriously.

It makes sense for "NBA sources" to think that Morey has had talks with Philly and Boston. Philly has his old comrade Sam Hinkie and Boston is where he used to work before the Rockets job. Basically, the whole "homies" angle.

There may well be something to it. But it could also just be idle chatter. And even if Houston did talk to BOS and PHI, it doesn't mean that the final trade will involve either one of them.

I do think that Houston has a "safety school" more or less line up for Asik. Otherwise, Morey wouldn't be doing this "auction by December 19th" thing. It's never been his style to do trades nosily, and he didn't even do so with Asik until just now. Moreover, announcing such an auction tends to be a distraction for the team as guys worry whether they become a part of the trade package. Again, not Morey's style. In fact, the team was busy denying trade rumors last year and Morey and McHale publicly said most likely nothing is gonna happen right up until the trade deadline (when something did happen).

Yes, but Asik is on bench for a long period of time.
Which is a very clear bandwagon carrying "on sale"
