I appreciate your thoroughness in reply, but with all due respect to your basketball acumen, the crux of meh's statement in another thread was cap space "in the hands Morey", NOT with what is in your view.

Depending on what Asik nets, getting rid of Lin might not create any cap space though. Generally speaking though, what fans do with cap space is usually better than what a gm can do because GMs need to act within reality (look at any random trade thread on any team board).

Bev looks better because some of you have such low expectations of him. Overall he's been a slight disappointment this year. Last week or so has been better.

I agree with langal. Slightly disappointing. For some reason the major guards have had poorer games against him than the lesser guards. Offensively, he's been a little disappointing. Not major, but a little.

Anything they get out of Beverley offensively is a bonus.

His defense has been outstanding, all NBA caliber.

funny thing, The Glove signed my sneakers last year, so I luv him and I hate him ! basketball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Patrick Beverly has been in the NBA for just barely one year.

If Patrick Beverly averages say 15 with 5 assists and makes the at least the second team all defensive team in the NBA with a team that goes to the WCF's will that be good enough ?

Or is just more personal then that ?

    response

Bev's man to man D is very good, better than Lin's. Even Lin fans shd see that.

Beverley makes less money than Greg Smith this year, so the fact that he has been able to cause so much problems for PGs in the golden-era of PGs is a major complement for this team.

    Don't agree.

Harden will be relegated and becomes the 6th man off the bench just as he was at OKC.

The reason, Rondo won't give up the ball, period.

Of course, Rondo is so much better than Lin.

I don't think Lin has the bargaining chip. Lin's biggest weakness is his PG skill, not his defense, mainly, his ball handle. He is a combo guard, not a pure PG. If he can cut his TO/game below with 30 minutes of playing, he would still be the starter no matter what.

Still, Lin's best strategy for himself is to improve his ball handle and gets traded to a team who can let him start and does not have a ball-dominating SG. Tough luck though. His second best choice would be a 6th man off the bench as Ginobilli, but he still needs to improve upon his ball handle.

kinda right. But lin would have been a better man to man denfender if he could just stick to his f@@@king man but not so much help out team defense when there is a hole there anyway

This is what I mean by low expectations. Defense has not been all NBA imo. Having such a poor offensive player on the court for 35+ minutes a game is not good. Howard/Howard/etc. is not equal to Lebron/Wade or Kobe/Shaq, etc.

I would like to see him be allowed to play the point too. We are not going far with Harden as the primary (only?) point guard. Bev should be given chance to become all round player - considering the alternative is having Harden play point all the time.

LIn is superior athletically than Beverley and is also longer in height and heavier too. This should be to Lin's advantage. Beverley is pesky and can be hard on some PG's. But, Thomas made Beverley look bad tonight. We'll see what Patrick does in the next game. he does rebound strong after bad games.

Lin is only good as 6th man but Bev is not even close as a starting PG...

This is probably not a debate anymore. Looks like Jeremy Lin is gone

I don't think holding Isaiah 19pts 8 ast by having 6pts 2 ast is outstanding. lol.

I go back and forth about who should start. But I understand morey wanted to start bev so the team could get use to him as the starter if they wanted to move lins contract sometimes this season & have brooks Canaan back him up. I think Lin could be that solid starting point guard we need at times but it's old news now the staff and players just don't trust him, and Lin is a player that played off confidence.

If u believed that 6th man stuff then you would believe anything, and don't understand the business side of sports
