This summer is of course the year that LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade could all becomes free agents, so having the flexibility to at least check out your options is a valuable asset.

If the trade turns out the way this thread is about, it will follow exactly my prediction one month ago. Asik would be gone for sure, Parsons if not gone in this deal, will be eventually gone. Lin would be nice as a spark off the bench, but too costly. If he can't even serve as a scoring sub, he would be surely gone.

The team has the core of Harden an Dwight. Any player who does not fit with Harden and Dwight would be gone.

Still Harden and Dwight are two flawed stars, but you deal with what you have.

 

Why is there no room for Parsons? Money isn't an issue and he'll have plenty of playing time.

Asik has the bargaining power with his position on the court. The center position is the most difficult position to fill for a team. Asik can defend and rebound, and is a starting quality center.

Asik does not need to give full effort on the court and can still get his wish because his position is important and there is not lots of starting quality centers in the league.

On the other hand, Lin does not really have the bargaining power as there are so many good guards out there.

So you can see the different approaches Asik and Lin with regard to the starting position on the team.

 

It is the business take. If Thad Young comes, he will be the starting SF. Parsons is expendable.

The only thing that is certain is that Asik is a whiny b**** and a loser. We'll miss his ability on the court but we're better off without that kind of loser ass mentality.

 

You're saying basically the same thing I am. With the added caveat that we might trade for a max player (Love, Melo) if they come on the market at the trade deadline ..... OR these trade talks could eventually morph into a trade for a Rondo or Deng in the next few days.

Are you talking about this season or over the next two? Parsons certainly isn't expendable at his current contract.

 

Yes both of these options are possible, with morey people have to understand he's going to put himself in a situation to swing for a homerun not just a single.
