Honest question... what good "stuff" does Keenum have, besides slightly better mobility than Schaub (for which he's used to run backwards in his time here), and an increased penchant to "throw it up" (which is now resulting in picks vs. TD's as teams have caught on to his tendencies). It would be one thing if he was struggling in some of the more complex aspects of the game that take time... but right now, he's failing at the SIMPLE things (throwing accurate throws to the correct/wide open receiver).
All the people who were blaming Kubiak's play-calling as the reason for holding this team back disagree with you. The "kid" is making mistakes... a lot of which are absolutely his fault.
It really wasn't that amazing of a turnaround. Even over his first couple of starts, in which he played passably well, you could tell that he was having a problem in the 2nd half because people were adjusting to him. Cover the deep ball or send the blitz. Boom. The guy all of a sudden isn't that great anymore. Anybody who was watching objectively could see it. The hype just got so out of control that anybody who dared criticize him was immediately lambasted. I'll admit, even I got suckered in for a while. But the illusion wore off very quickly.
Keeping a watch on the 3-win teams: Minnesota up at home against Philly Atlanta - Washington playing each other, sending someone to 4 wins I don't think it's all or nothing chasing the top pick....I just don't want a sickening flip backwards into the #5 or 6.
In junior high our team was so bad that we punted once on 3rd down just to throw off the other team. Texans should give that a shot.
Where is the vertical passing? It's almost like Dennison thinks the Kubiak/Schaub playcalling was working and is sticking to it.
