I read a few weeks ago that Mack's main concern was keeping Saban from following him. Mission accomplished.
Can't blame him especially after the way he has been treated this year by the longhorn fan base. Damn fine career Coach Brown had, completely turned that program around. No doubt the next coach will be wary of how quick that fan base will turn on a coach. I hope Coach Mack Brown will get a win against Oregon and go out in style, can't really hope for any class by those horns fans regardless.
Longhorn fans should be careful for what they wish for...most places would kill for the 16 yr run he gave you guys. Mack Brown made this job one of the premier jobs.
Didn't know he was only 9 wins away from DKR's win list. He could have gotten there if the last 4 years were better but would have a shot at it next year. Sad end to the story. Oh you read it? Must be true.
How am I the gullible one when I'm not passing off rumors as fact. Gullible is filling the boards with "When Saban comes to Texas."
David Shaw, James Franklin, Gus Malzahn, Art Briles, Charlie Strong. I think one of those 5 will be the next HC @ UT. Tomlin & Harbaugh are pipe dreams, IMO.
Oh, I know. That means absolutely nothing. It's The University of Texas. They have more money than God. A buyout is chump change for them. And, to be honest, I don't think Nick Saban is completely dead, either.
They don't have the balls to get Strong. If Strong is mediocre they'll look stupid for pushing Mack out. They're terrified Mack's predecessor will fail. I would be too.
What do you mean "don't have the balls?" You mean high-risk, high-reward type situation? They don't want egg on their face if he fails?
Hate too see Mack go. What a run he had. Who's going to coach the Horns? Harbaugh, David Shaw, Jerry Gray, Greg Robinson, Muschamp lol, Kubiak?
lol what? 4 years is a quick? he's the one who made promises, hes the one who was not a good judge of talent i.e. rg3, JFF, Winston. The man has lost it, plain and simple smh i dont think you can argue that no coach has done less with more. as for the last part, i absolutely hate mack brown for the way he held the program hostage toward the end here but i'll still be rooting for him to go out with a win and end it on a high note for everything he's done at Texas.
