I actually agree with you. That's my prediction for what will happen, not my hope for what will happen. I like Rondo a lot too, but agree with your apprehensions. However, I don't think Morey passes up a chance to upgrade the overall talent level of the team, regardless of fit. Perhaps he is not so confident in Harden and wants to hedge his bets. Don't forget how good Rondo is (sounds like you wouldn't) or how good his contract is.

Milsap. He'd also be a perfect fit

    1. Lin will be traded by the 19th. He'll either go out with Asik or he'll go out within 1 day of Asik or we'll keep Asik until the deadline and move Lin by Dec. 19th. But most likely scenario is Asik/Lin traded simultaneously. Lin will be traded to either Milwaukee, Orlando, Chicago, Boston, Knicks, Charlotte, or Lakers.

    2. At least one other player from among DMo/TJones/GSmith/Ronnie Brewer/Covington/Casspi will be traded also and most like 2 or more of those players will go out with the possibility of all of them leaving.

    3. We will be very lose to or above the luxury tax after next week's trades.

    ..............................................................

    We will get back:

    1. At least 2 first rounder with one of them having future lottery potential.

    plus

    2. At least one of these players with a large expiring contract or small buyout:

    Andrew Bynum
    Hedo Turkoglu
    Ben Gordon
    Kris Humphries
    Emeka Okafor
    Richard Jefferson
    Andris Biedrins
    Marvin Williams
    Carol Butler
    Jameer Nelson
    Danny Granger
Luol Deng (more likely at the deadline)

    OR possibly
    Eric Gordon

    plus

    3. Either one of these players:

    Rajon Rondo
    Paul Millsap
    Ersan Ilyasova
    Thad Young
    Enes Kanter
    Tristan Thompson
    Iman Shumpert (low probability)
    Giannis (very, very low probability)

and a smaller to midsized expiring non-guaranteed deal such as:

    Earl Clark
    Ekpe Udoh
    Luke Ridnour
    Brandon Rush
    Keith Bogans
    Spencer Hawes
    Alonzo Gee
    CJ Miles
    Kwame Brown
    Jason Smith
    Greg Steimsma

    OR

a second larger expiring contract from #2.

    OR
two of the smaller/mid-sized expirings from the above list.

    plus

    possibly

one to 3 minimum contract players as throw ins. Guys like:

    Jeff Adrien
    Ronnie Price
    Jeff Taylor **
    Jamaal Tinsley
    Mike Harris
    etc.

Some first rounders. Which is OK with me. Its always about preparing for the future...that's how we got here in the first place. In Morey we trust!!

I'm personally looking forward to a package deal hopefully including TJ and/or Lin. If Morey only trades Asik I would be disappointed. This would not fit his MO.

I predict some crazy 3 or 4 team trade with both Lin and Asik leaving maybe more

I would say Motie and Asik will both be out together.

Late scratch in on Enes Kanter + some jazz assets. Utahs a perfect long term landing spot for Omer. Move Derrick to PF permanently

I think it will be a three team deal:

Asik, Lin and Waiters to the Sixers

Hawes, Turner and D-Mo to the Cavaliers

Varejao (or Bynum) and a first round pick to the Rockets

Not totally sure about the mix, but those are the players involved more or less.

    Why this.

Hawes and Turner are out from the Sixers anyway.

The Cavs need a center to support the ailing Bynum (or Varejao if he starts) and a good SF.

The Rockets need a backup center and really want a good first round pick. Rockets bring back Canaan to push the ball and shoot the threes.
