I bet the Celtics would do a Rondo for Lin and Asik trade if it was available to them. They would probably even give us Kelvin Cato Jr, aka Fab Melo in the deal.

If the Rockets got Rondo, they'd have (arguably) the best player in the league in 3 different positions (PG, SG, C) ....

But, yeah, Ainge won't trade Rondo for a package where the main piece is Asik. I could see Ainge doing a trade like Bledsoe + Suns 2014 1st round pick for Rondo.

I've always agreed about having rondo. I think too much is being made about harden and rondo battling for the ball. The huge difference between rondo handling vs lin is rondo is a proven, big time playoff performer who makes great decisions with the ball. I feel harden would play off the ball more because rondo has earned respect as an elite playmaker with the ball.

In terms of he can't shoot. Its not that he can't shoot especially mid range,he's amore reluctant shooter. When he's in scoring mode as he had to in some of the playoffs,he was knocking down mid range shots with ease. I can't remember, but espn had a shot short for him and his mid range effeciency is pretty good. Combine that with his defense, decision making, and competitiveness, on the biggest stage and I think he would fit great. The rockets have situational basketball issues. Rondo is great at situational basketball.

If we get him, we'll have 2 all stars with huge flaws, and an ex-all star with huge flaws

Seems T-Jones hit a wall. We need to upgrade the starting PF more than the starting PG. Rondo would be great but it's only a marginal improvement over whoever we lose in that trade.

Would gladly take Varejao or Millsap

The main good thing about having rondo would be that Harden would have no excuse to go dominating the ball for any length of time

Gimmick incompetent coach? Mchale is pretty good. What's with the mchale hate? He's had a winning record and improved every year while here. He understands the game and his players well

tjones is 1-2 years out from being a consistent contributor every night. recall parsons as a rookie and last year compared to this year. huge difference

A pass first point guard is only a marginal improvement? Well a pass first point guard like Jason Kidd single handedly took a terrible Nets team the previous year, into the finals the very next year with his passing. Rondo is leaps and bounds better than both Lin and Beverely.

T Jones hit a wall? He played fine to me in that portland game. Do you even watch basketball in it's entirety? Or do you just skim through highlights and read boxscores?

His personality would clash big time with Dwight and maybe harden. No thanks

Was that why Harden,Parsons and Howard were all hugging and joking around with Rondo when the Celtics came to town? Like over the top homeboy love.

We rely heavily on the 3 point shot which Rondo lacks, so I'll pass.

With rondo, hardens numbers would drop a little, but Dwight's would improve drastically.

Pretty huge risk since he hasn't played a game yet and probably won't until Jan. 2014.
