A terribly designed freeway, and I have no doubt they'll **** it up even worse with this construction. Whoever thought the interchange at the Beltway and 290 was a good idea should be shot. Everybody during rush hour just exits the freeway at Jones and gets back on to get around that stupid merge lane, which ****s up traffic even worse. The same situation plays out at the Pinemont exit too -- everybody gets into that exit lane and cuts off the traffic remaining on the freeway, which ****s up traffic. The thing is, I don't blame those people one bit. The way the freeway is designed, they have a pretty strong incentive to do that. You can cut off about 10 to 15 minutes doing what they do. I guarantee that if you gave me the resources they're sinking into that stupidly designed freeway, I could do a better job fixing it.
Waiting for da1 to enter with solutions. P.s. 290 coming into Austin is pretty bad and will only get worse in the next 10 years.
290 is built like every other freeway in Houston. There are many ramps where people exit only to reenter. The freeway just needs to be expanded... and that's what is happening.
It's up there. Stevenson/Kennedy in Chicago are the worst that I used to be stuck in. My blood pressure just spiked typing their names.
