And he spent much time in the backcourt with Curry which means he can play off the ball... Plus he's a hard working veteran point guard. We could use that...
a) How do you know Monroe wants to play in Houston? b) How do you know Monroe doesn't want to stay in Detroit? Even if a) and b) were true, why would Detroit let him walk for nothing? Too many teams with too much cap space this offseason for Monroe to not get the max. If Detroit truely wasn't willing to pay him the max then they'll simply trade him (prior to the trade deadline) to a team that is willing to pay him and that can offer something in return. If that happens his new team will simply match any offer for him in FA. Whatever team Monroe is on at the end of the season is a near lock to sign him next offseason. Why in the world would they let him walk for nothing?
I know Varajeo can rebound, he is an energy and hustle player. But can he protect the rim? Can he block shots? Can he play Center?
If the Rockets are talking to Cleveland the deal most likely is for Bynum and picks. Bynum can be bought out for $6 million so there may be another team willing to give up a large expiring contact and a future pick for Bynum's deal and DMo.
Whoever trades for Asik in the East to keep him is trying to make a playoff run. It should cost them 2 picks.
I doubt it.. Cleveland probably wants to hold on to Bynum since they have him at a cheap price and he's showing signs of life...
Some are saying why would the Cavs trade for Asik when they have Bynum? Simple...Bynum can go down at any time with those arthritic knees. They know Bynum can be done in a second. They will also have Bird rights with Asik and likely plus willingly going to pay Asik the money. Also, they are likely willing to give up a 1st round pick too.
no we didn't sit our starters. some of our starters played the entire 4th. others only sat a couple of minutes. please review game.
Sean Deveney/Sporting News: The Rockets are getting closer to dealing center Omer Asik, and NBA.com’s David Aldridge reports that Cleveland is an option, with the Rockets getting back Anderson Varejao. But, one source said, there will be several other teams involved in pursuing Asik. The Rockets would very much like to add a draft pick in a deal for Asik—especially one in this year’s draft. That high asking price is one reason it has taken so long to come up with a move involving Asik, who first requested a trade back on Nov. 13, when he was demoted to the bench.

A possibility, yes. Although in waiving him we'd be handing OKC or SA or Portland or (ugh) LAC the chance of picking him up to bolster their squad. Unless you flip Bynum and the draft picks right away for player(s) you want (letting that team buy him out; but then, he could still go to a WC team and play for a ring--here's hoping for Miami instead, in that scenario). Actually, I guess that'd be a three-team deal.
Zach Lowe: Is Anyone willing to Pay for Omer Asik? http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/85751/is-anyone-willing-to-pay-for-omer-asik Houston wants 2 1st round picks and a pick swap from Charlotte according to Lowe? These picks most likely have to come from after 2014 given that CHI owns a protected Charlotte 1st rounder.
Evan Turner Spencer Hawes Amir Johnson Luol Deng Andrew Bynum Anderson Varejao Paul Millsap Chris Bosh These players either have non-guaranteed, team options, or ETO contracts after this season.
