Dwight and Jones are quite the duo. Who knows what Jones' ceiling is at this point. He's crazy young.

all the more reason to not trade Asik for a stretch 4. just trade asik for a wing defender who can score and defend.

I'm not saying TJ is on Howard's level defensively but to be fair _ Howard doesn't face the same type of talent TJ faces on a regular basis. The power forward position is a deep talented pool of players TJ has to go to battle against and he's been doing a good job. But I don't believe anyone is saying TJ is as good as Howard defensively. TJ has more of a Josh Smith make up defensively IMO...

And as a counterpoint, TJones benefits a lot from defenses focusing on Howard. Not quite sure he'd be putting up the same numbers without the leagues best (or at least top 3) centers next time him.

TJones is a great draft pick but he needs to continue to put up numbers consistently thought out an entire a season, then multiple seasons.

I agree with your points. A smarter Josh Smith

He has been very mediocre on rotations, which has killed the Rockets in some late-game scenarios (and why Casspi was playing in his place one game). This is to be expected from a 2nd year player, and his athletic ability has compensated for it in some cases.

I was talking in reaction to how people were saying Howard was a lesser Jones. Did I lose my sarcasm meter?

Keep Jones and Dwight together for the next 6 years.

We are going to dominate opposing front courts...

I don't know if you're trying to be funny when you say low ceiling. Jones has the highest ceiling of any rocket. I've been a rockets fan since about 77 and they've never had a player as unique a jones except maybe ralph and dream. That's not to say he's a half of famer, but he's a unique and talented player. With jones, its a matter of how good he wants to be and how hard he works at it. He could be a 20-10-2.5blk-4asst guy. He has that kind of talent.

Did you skip the era where TMac played for us.I love Jones, but TMac was much more unique than him. TMac couldve been up there with Jordan with a better work ethic.

I laughed at this thread at first. I thought TJ was going to be better than PPatt and some of our other PF's. But, TJones is doing it big this season. I am very impressed. He blocks more three pointers than anyone I have seen. It seems like he gets 1 blk per game at the three point line and has yet to foul out there. It's crazy.

I think his biggest weakness (it's someone MOST young players struggle with) is helping the helper. Dwight is ALL over players when they penetrate and TJones needs to slide over before Dwight gets in the air, that way when the shot is altered and missed, TJones has Dwight's man boxed out.

....why we need vets. Like Jones but we are win now. Jones can be behind Milsap and Howard and take a few of Cassipi's minutes.

Great potential beast but we are win mode now and we don't time to deal with TJones bad nights like at Portland when he got killed on the boards and mostly a non facor.

Where was the implied? This was more a stab at that abundance of youth. Need a better a balance of it.

Terrence Jones is fool's gold. He has exposed himself in Portland.
