We have a better chance at landing Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees this offseason. Can this Wineston convo move somewhere else?

why isn't anyone talking about Kyle Allen as a prospect? He's going to be better than Bridgewater and Winston.

Sure...but this is in response to tmac saying that Bridgewater is a better prospect than Winston. It's not like Skyrim brought up Winston out of the blue...it was in regards to a point that was initially mentioned by someone else. There is nothing wrong with responding to it.

    yea it was a joke..

bridgewater does all these things. winston is a much better player than ej manuel is thats probably why they are having more success with him. had ej manuel pegged as a 2nd rounder, he was even talking about what team he would make a good backup for prior to being drafted, buffalo reached for that dude because he had measurables and play style similar to the flavor of the month kaepernick, minus that rocket arm kaep has..

watching that video i see many comparisons between bridgewater and winston. with winston though you have a larger frame that looks like he could step in day one and take over an nfl franchise, teddy needs to put on some weight. both these kids are calm under pressure, evade rushers effortlessly and can sling it. they are both pocket guys with the ability to run if needed but want to pass first.

winston will get the edge because of size and level of competition, but when i watch both these guys play i dont see enough of a seperation that makes me want to pass on bridgewater. guarantee anything. when you ar ein a position to draft a kid with all the boxes checked like bridgewater you take him and hope he has all the intangibles to make his skills translate into the NFL.

The cerebral nature of the QB position would sway me towards Bridgewater. Winstons post game interview last week really made me say 'damn that kid is dumb'. So I looked up some Teddy B interviews and I was impressed. Soft spoken, humble guy and he seemed far brighter than Winston to me.

Measurables aside since both players are similar who is the smarter kid in everyone's opinion? That's the most important facet of QB play IMO.

lol i stopped taking recruting sites seriously when mulitple had Gunner Keil rated above Winston, and had Andrew Luck and RG3 rated as 3 star prospects lol

remmeber Matt Barkley, Mark Sanchez, and Brady Quinn, all number 1 rated qb's who fizzeled out

i doubt this kid has much of a nfl career, he has a 4.9 40, the way the nfl is going he will be a backup at the next level

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...-would-be-first-pick-in-2014-draft-scout-says

If Florida State redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston was eligible for the 2014 NFL Draft, he'd probably be the first overall pick, an NFL scout told the Orlando Sentinel.

"Rarely do you see a quarterback at Winston's age who has the combination of size, speed, arm strength and field awareness that he has," the scout, who requested anonymity, told Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi. "He's a bigger, stronger, faster version of (Louisville's) Teddy Bridgewater."

    ------------------

keep in mind this way said back in october, Winston has vastly improved as a prospect, to the point where he is in John Elway, Andrew Luck range... and to the poster above... Jameis Winston is not dumb, he got academic scholrships to play at Notre Dame and Stanford

Bridgewater is just a year and two months older than Winston.

A year ago, when Bridgewater was just a few months older than Winston is now, he tore up the best defense in the country and looked more impressive in that game than anything that Winston has done so far.

I am not saying Bridgewater is the better prospect. There is no denying Winston's size and what he is doing as a freshman, albeit red shirt fr. is very impressive. But don't act like there is this big gap between the 2. There isn't. If I give the edge in overall talent to Winston I give the edge in smarts and character to Bridgewater.

That doesn't make Bridgewater the better prospect. But it IMO does make it a tougher decision than many of the Winston fans would admit.

again just because some talking heads say something it means its fact? I remember when Andrew Luck was the "best prospect since Elway", but since there is a new shiny thing out we forgot about him and now Winston is the best since Elway... shouldnt he be the best since Luck?

They should be calling him the best since Luck, but every headline is going to be sensationalized with ESPN.

I get annoyed every time I have to hear how Clowney "exploded onto the draft scene against Michigan last season." NFL scouts have been well aware of Clowney since he was being recruited out of high school. Only the football laymen was introduce to him by that hit.

All teams suffer the "if he's so good at this age surely he can only get better as he get older" bias when it comes to draft picks. But history has shown consistently that sometimes prospects don't get better. Or they even regress. It's not a given that a young player will be better as they get older.

Not saying Wineston isn't the real deal. He very much can be. But tons of freshmen QBs hailed as the next great prospect flounder as time goes on. If Bridgewater grades out even as a Cam Newton/Phillip Rivers type of prospects(great but not quite sure thing), I will happily take him #1.

Teddy BridgeWater has the complete package... arm strength, pocket presence, accuracy, and mobility. Complete package I'll tell ya. He could definitely be a franchise player. He is better than Shaub for sure.

Finally someone else sees it. This kid is tough. That's what I love about him. No body mentions his toughness. The talk about the obvious things his great at, his accuracy and his footwork and his pocket presence and his mobility. They rank him high in all those areas. But they don't recognize his mental and physical toughness is what separates him.

Everyone misses in spite of the fact he has a crappy offensive and is constantly under pressure or that unlike Winston he makes pre snap decisions on the line.

Talent wise I won't disagree if someone gives the edge to winston but He doesn't do all the other stuff as well. He doesn't do pre snap and his progressions are not as good, nor his footwork or his accuracy. He doesn't have the pressure that Bridgewater faces and he doesn't have the mental and physical toughness.

Bridgewater is the best player available in this draft.

I'm not trying to argue but does he have typical size? I am not sure what his bio is but he seems to be a lot leaner than most QBs. No doubt he has the arm strength and mobility though.

He's listed at 6-3 196 lbs which is frail for a NFL QB. He'll need to add some weight.
