2014 is the key for us and I'm sure Morey has been focused on it since he signed Dwight. Love....he's gonna get traded most likely. Maybe not at the deadline but by next year's deadline for sure. It's obvious to me that barring some sort of miracle for the TWolves that they suddenly start playing out of their minds and turn into a top seed in the West that Love is going to opt out and fly the coop in 2015. The Twolves aren't the Nets and Knicks. They can't afford to take that chance. At some point they are going to move him IF they don't turn that franchise around and get it headed towards the top of the West. In my opinon, that's not going to happen. Love is going to be traded before 2015. Morey is trying getting ready for it and gather all the trade assets he can now.

This is the biggest reason (among several) that I am predicting that Lin is gone by Dec. 19th (90% chance) and for sure by Feb. 20 (10%).

Utah was one of those horrible markets that never can get FA talent, so they ended up moving Deron Williams WAY ahead of his impending FA time. Minny looks to be in the same situation.

So the packages that Utah got (Deron Williams) and Denver got (Carmello) are probably the types of packages Minny would look at for Love at the trading deadline.

I love rogower's idea and general line of thinking.

That said, I have a hard time believing Milwaukee would include a first-rounder given how absurdly bad they are. They do, however, have a bunch of second rounders at their disposal.

But is that enough for us to take on Ilyasova's contract? I'm skeptical if the best they can offer are the second rounders + parts.

Everyone assumes when talking about including 1st rounders that we are talking about 2014 1st rounders. Since that is a stacked draft, teams will be leery of giving up those picks, but 1st rounders in 2015 could be in play. That is still a good future asset.

I don't usually post trades but here goes...

    Houston/Denver

    Asik
    filler/pick

    for

    8.3 M TE
    Mozgov

Houston gets their backup Center AND a nice TE to send out for another player (wing player maybe?)...

Denver gets a quality Center and gets to look to unload McGee.

I think the Texans need a Tight End more than the Rockets do.

I believe you are referring to TPE (traded player exception) correct?

Denver is over the cap so they have to still stay within the 150% rule. Meaning they'd have to send out more salary to the Rockets to get closer to that figure of Asik's salary.

Still predicting that Morey will avoid any contracts which extend beyond next season. I guess rookie contracts would be the exception, but I don't see Ersan coming here.

And the Bucks might love Alphabet, but Asik is a defensive stud. You want someone good, ya gotta give up someone good. ;)

The two best trading partners right now for Asik imo are Cleveland and Philly.

    why neither?
Asik obviously doesen't want to be here. And nor does he play well with Dwight while... Asik would be "great" with Hortford accoridng to Atlanta fans. And Millsap is only 28 and would be great with Dwight.

Jones is great with Dwight. Millsap, as good as he is, is unnecessary. It is best to use the Asik trade for a player that we need. Like another legit backup center and a 1st round pick or two. Adding another PF at this point makes no sense.

I can't see an Asik to Milwaukee trade working out unless a 3rd team is involved with Asik going to that team or Sanders is shipped out..

Sanders is a starter and a better rim protector than Asik and Henson has looked very good as a starter the past few games... Asik will not want to go to Milwaukee sharing minutes and playing 3rd wheel.

But the Bucks GM is pretty poor at making moves so who knows. Ersan is def available with Henson playing so well.

Ersan could be a Rocket soon.

Ersan needs to come with a draft pick of some sort for Asik IMO.

    If we get Giannis

Morey is the GM to walk this earth

The more I think about it....

here's the thing, if the Bucks land both Lin and Asik....they're a playoff team in the East. Taking their 14 pick is kinda risky. I'd be holding out for Giannis or 2 first rounders if I were Morey...especially if they expected me to deal with Sanders and his contract too.

You guys do realize we'd be lucky to land millsap for asik straight up.
Be realistic. Asik drove down his value a lot and he's barely played minutes this season. Not saying he's worthless but no way Danny ferry gives millsap for just him. Same with Philly with hawes and turner. Yes these teams probably have little use for keeping these players. But there are 29 other teams you can trade with. Doesn't have to be Houston.
