Of course you can't compare a C's % vs an SG's straight up, it's relative. Drummond's % is all-world even considering his position. Harden's is slightly above average for a 2 guard.
Slightly above average? a 25-5 boards 6 assists a game player is above average considering dude was playing on a busted feet. Try again LOF.Go look at Harden's averages in the last 5 games since he has been back and his feet are somewhat better. He is averaging close to 29 points 7 boards 6 assists and shooting around 48%.
Um...no. I'm a huge Parsons fan but Hayward is having a statistically better season across the board and is the team's #1 option meaning he faces double teams/the other team's best wing defender. Parsons benefits from playing with two superstars and thus, a lot of open corner 3s. Hayward plays with a rookie pg, albeit a very good one, and Favors who I think is very overrated. I hope Morey makes a poison pill offer for Hayward this offseason after packaging Parsons with other assets for an All-Star. I know people on here love Parsons but you've got to sell high.
Short term memory much? Was talking FG%, TOs, and age. Combining ppg, rebs, and asts when speaking of my "slightly above average" comment is misplaced. Harden's 45% is slightly above average for a 2 guard. Drummond is leading the league. Harden's % last season was 44%, were his feet also hurt then? Not saying he can't improve, just speaking in terms of what's actually happened. As for your LOF accusation, I'm a Houston fan and am not sold on him. He's improved from last season, but needs to keep it up. His TOs need to improve as well.
Hayward is putting up 17/5/5 at 39%/28% (for an EFG/TS of 43/49%) vs Parsons at 17/5/4 at 52%/40% (for an EFG/TS of 59/61%) Statistically better in which universe?
Man... Parson is old... And, Harden is number 2 at least. Free throws and 3p shooting will never get old. Paul George is just media hype, as his the best player on the current best team. Put him at Kings, and he will be a slightly better Tyreke Evans. Or a better Gordon Hayward. However a more interesting question, seeing how well Davis and Drummond plays the running game. Would you trade Dwight for them? And finally, Irving is having a real bad season. Is there something that we do not know?
Actually Drummond's % isn't even the best among centers. His TS%, due to his god awful FT%, sits at .596, which is 7th among centers, 37th among all qualified players. Harden's .600 TS% is 27th among all players. 5th among all SGs. Of the SGs with higher % than Harden, only Wes Mathews is averaging over 15ppg.
There are better ways to measure shooting overall, but FG% is USELESS? You don't even believe that.... if you're an educated fan. Anyway, FG% was only 1 of 3 points I made for Drummond>Harden. The other 2 were TOs and age. Again, I'm not saying Drummond is better, just that he has a legit argument considering those 3 points. My initial response spawned from a poster's comment that Drummond had NO case... similar hyperbole to your saying FG% is USELESS. Am I being trolled? A different poster introduced ppg, rebs, asts and applied it to something I never said. That's cool because misunderstandings do happen. However, since dude never responded with a simple "my bad" an inaccurate interpretation is hard to believe.
It's a list about potential, guys. They say Harden has reached his potential because he's already a Kobe/DWade prime level SG (they don't say so outright because its sacrilege, but everyone knows it); the only level above that is MJ, and Harden simply doesn't have the physique to become the next MJ. And the truth is, size and length are great markers for NBA potential. No shame for Harden when the only 3 players rated higher potential than him are 6'9" and 6'10". You couldn't blame anyone who was picking 1 guy under 24 to build a team around for choosing the next Duncan (Davis) or Howard (Drummond) over the next Kobe/Wade (Harden). The first two types of player can carry a team of scrubs deep into the playoffs, the latter cannot.
PS: Paul George is probably overrated on this list. He gets too much credit for being the most consistent offensive player on a team full of great players that wins wholly with its defense. Even if he continues this level of play, eventually people will realize PG is not an 85% version of Lebron and, like Harden, could not carry a team of scrubs to the Finals like Lebron did and Davis/Drummond are likely going to some time in the next decade.
"so many better ways" Also, go ahead and explain the countless ways there are to measure shooting efficiency nowadays.. lol. Besides TS% you can't name 1 that's better FG%. The hyperbole that is typed for effect is truly laughable.
Thread title needs to be modified from 25 and under to Under 25. That makes a big difference because Parsons and Lin could be included and numerous other players as well.
Since your only after I how about eFG%. It's funny how some new members come on here and just attack posters without knowing anything about them. Please CF's is the best sports forum on the Internet, don't try and act like your the second coming of morey, when clearly if you don't know basic stat metics.
Media bias Harden's body of work should make him rank #1. Harden ranks top 6-10 of all NBA players. How come here he's only #4 here when Davis and Drummond are not even on that list?
