at least OP now has disclaimers in his posts and calls them predictions. better than half a yr ago when he was so sure of the way the nba worked (in trades)...until he was proven incorrect.

Seems pointless to trade Lin right now.

His contract probably overplays him a bit, especially with the balloon payment thing. Also, good PGs are abundant in the NBA now. So, teams are not likely to give up value for Lin.

And if you are not getting value for him-- and I don't think the likes of Ilyasova and Turkoglu to be value-- why deal him?

The guy is playing 30 MPG for the team and the injuries to guys this year show that you do need perimeter depth since one or more of the players can be out at a give time, even in the playoffs.

This is the opposite of the Asik situation, even without accounting for Asik's trade demand. Asik likely has good trade value given the scarcity of elite defensive 7 footers. He was also stuck playing 13-15 mpg when the Asik-Howard starting lineup didn't work.

BTW, about Ilyasova: Has anyone watched MIL games or at least checked the box scores lately? Not exactly producing like a frontline player. In fact, I think Casspi has arguably been better. Not sure that a team having to trade away a star would want his contract in return, at least no more that they'd want Lin's.

I'll predict that Morey trades Jones. He's always looking to sell high on talent like Brooks and Lowry for example. Jones is the exact asset teams would want and perhaps overpay for.

Hypothetically speaking, it could be because Lin has had the pressure taken off of him. He's playing well coming off the bench, and has nothing to lose when he's in the game in the 4th. He's not expected to be great in the 4th, so he plays better. If he is to become part of this team's starting core, like I would like, he needs to be able to contribute like this every game and in high-pressure situations. Only time will tell, right?

Like I said, if he's just a Schaub, he'll look really good, and choke down the stretch.

We'll see... it is entirely possible I have no idea what I'm talking about, but that's why I'm on the garm and not part of the Rockets organization.... although I did apply once, got no response

You also guaranteed that Aaron Brooks would be cut in camp and that his signing was really because Morey owed him a favor with the contract for his buyout last year. You claimed the "plan" all along was to sign him, cut him and let him go get a contract somewhere else.

What are you smoking? Who is going to give us 2 1st round picks?

My prediction is no, they won't. Marketing, popularity on a worldwide scale would be some of the reasons.

That stuff is irrelevant. Emphasizing his marketing worth detracts from the fact that Lin himself is a legitimately good player.

My prediction is YES. Since Brooks can replace Lin's sixthman role and he's much cheaper.

You can tell this guy has never watched Canaan play for the vipers. No way Canaan Is as good as lin, that's just a ridiculously statement to make, if he was theirs no way he would be in the d-league

    Michael Beasley 766 43.4% 119 58.4% 15.0%

This is what happens when he gets his **** straight on a champion team with high standards and high expectations.

I predict Lin will retire a Rocket, and enter the Hall of Fame as a Rocket.

    And ditto for Harden.

How about Lin and Asik for Chalmers, Haslem, Anthony and Battier plus 2 first rounders. Who says no?

I'm more concerned about how Lin affects us in terms of winning games.
