Well part of the reason Indy is the better team is because Paul George is better than CP3. Technically yes CP3 is the better player but the pg slot is stacked with solid pgs you can get at 1/10 of the cost it takes to sign Chris Paul, this allowed Indy to get better players on the team at the other spots, and even give them a backup pg all combined at CP3's price.

On the other hand Paul George plays a position that is really weak in today's NBA, with the premier SGs all retired or old like Kobe, Joe Johnson, Wade, Brandon Roy etc. Paul George is already a top guy in his position. Add in the fact that he's younger, healthier and cheaper (I believe he signed to less than the max), and i think he's the better player once everything is considered.

Could be argued either are the better player, but I'd rather have George. So many more years left and upside

I'm pretty sure if you put the Clippers in the east and Pacers in the west, the records would be swapped too. You just can't compare players based on their teams because talent is different and competition is different.

Yeah, the Pacers are a better team, but my point remains that if you switched conferences, their records would change. Another reason why team accomplishments shouldn't be used to rate players.

Proliferation of stupid threads has become almost epidemic on Clutch Fans. Do you know that there are 450! (factorial) possible combinations of player versus player combinations? And I assume that you are proud of your esteemed contribution. Loser.

I know Paul George is the darling of the league right now and I completely understand why but come on, Chris Paul is still the superior player and I'd be surprised if Paul George could get to Chris Paul's prime level when he was putting up 30+ PER. I also don't understand how people are saying Paul George is the MVP over Lebron this year besides people just taking Lebron for granted at this point. Lebron leads the league in PER, win shares, TS% for someone who actually uses a lot of possessions, etc. The dude is shooting 60% from the field while taking 3 3's a game.

Given the way this board is going we're going to end up with a thread about how George is this awesome perimeter defender that can stop God whilst shooting from anywhere on the court whenever he wants and far superior to some nigerian chump who was drafted too high and only managed to win 2 titles.

I hate Chris Flop , would choose Paul George over him any day , but still gotta admit Chris is still a better player, maybe George will overtake him next year though

Paul George...Can't teach size. Easier to find a point guard than a lanky athletic 6ft8 player.

Chris Paul may be the best true point guard. But he isn't even the hardest PG to guard, players like Westbrook, Tony Parker and even Kryie Irving are harder to defend.
