Oh, absolutely I do. He will be gone by next season...I'd be shocked if he's not. I don't know if he's already agreed to step down though. It seems odd if he really is in FL out recruiting that he's told the university he's stepping down
I have to think that it's one of those keep doing your job until it's not your job anymore type of things. Also I have to think that recruiting in Florida is probably a lot better of an option right now in Mack's mind than staying in Austin and facing questions from all the people who are looking for answers This. The difference between people like jesus shuttlesworth and Chip Brown is that Chip is a credentialed media member...There is a difference in the standard of proof from sources as well as credibility beyond the blog worlds.

My take: One thing we can all agree on and I'll run from there: Mack isn't 100% sure he's returning. This means he's a goner. Because Saban & Alabama haven't announced his extension yet after all this time means he's in play for UT. If he's in play for UT and Mack is a goner, Saban will be UT's next coach. I will be surprised if there is any daylight in between Mack's "stepping down" or moving to another position and Saban coming to UT. The reason there is urgency to decide Mack's fate is because they have Saban on hold. Otherwise, there is no big hurry. P.S: This post is the kiss of death and eliminates any chance of Saban leaving Alabama for UT.
Eh...even if he's wrong, it wouldn't affect him if ULTIMATELY Mack steps down or gets fired. If that happens, people will remember the outcome and may actually ultimately credit Chip for being right when technically he wasn't.
interesting show today...

Here. We. Chip Brown has also been woefully wrong on a lot of his "highly placed sources" reporting. He's most likely going to step down just based on logic (either on his own or being forced out), but Chip Brown isn't necessarily any more credible than other reporters.
You can usually tell when chip is dead on or reaching I think he is all over this one. I'm just wondering if he's being fed stuff to out people in the AD
He was 100% sure of all sorts of things during re-alignment too. Guarantees from inside sources, etc. I do think he's fed stuff that people want out there for their own internal interests.
In this story, like MadMax said, he's 90% likely to be right - but that doesn't require inside sources. Everyone has been assuming Mack was gone this year, and if it happens, it most likely happens this week - coaches are generally let go right after a regular season ends. So by default, he'll most likely be "right" on the outcome of this story - but it doesn't mean he actually had inside sources or that it's a done deal as of today. Now, if he told us X was going to be coach or Mack Brown will step down at 5pm tomorrow or something specific like that, then that suggests insider info. But "Done deal that Mack is stepping down" means nothing.
Yeah, but realignment involved a lot of schools. He just knows Texas for the most part and he was definitely fed stuff I'm just curious if it's a couple of BOR feeding him **** to cause what they want.
you're just pointing to the realignment example. I counter you with Deloss Dodds, who he said would be gone by the end of the year, only to have Dodds go onto LHN and vehemently deny the report. And here we are in December with Steve Patterson also completely unrelated, but stumbled upon this gif
