Nets' assistant coach Lawrence Frank has been reassigned by Jason Kidd

To be clear, that wasn't a shot at the Texans organization, just the performance of THIS year's team relative to expectations.



Good thing about NFL is you can reload quickly. Nets went all in on aging has-beens led by the wrong guy and mortgaged the future in doing so.

 

Just can't imagine that Kidd is commanding much respect from guys like KG, Pierce, and Terry and that filters through the locker room. This is one of their peers coaching them. And I never really got the vibe that Kidd was really that much of a leader - very good and smart basketball player, yes, but he always kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

 

Just proving that it's almost impossible for great players to become great coaches?

 

Nets should send Kidd to coach D-League for a few weeks.

 

He should've waited to the advent of Snapchat and this wouldn't have been an issue. Add hasty and impatient to the list of Jackson's sins.

Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd allegedly used "a 13-letter word" in an expletive-filled rant against assistant Lawrence Frank following the team's loss in Orlando on Nov. 3.

"Sit the (expletive) down! I'm the coach of this (13-letter word) team! When you're on the bench, don't (expletive) move," Kidd said, according to NBA.com, which did not offer further details of what the 13-letter word was.

The argument ultimately led to Frank getting "reassigned" to a reduced role where he would produce "daily reports."

Frank was told at one point by somebody in the organization to curb his behavior on the bench during games and not be as active and demonstrative as he was earlier in the season, sources told ESPNNewYork.com. The week before he learned he would not be helping run practices or sit on the bench during games, it was definitely noticeable that Frank wasn't doing as much.

According to the NBA.com report, other coaches facing the Nets thought Frank was ill since he was being so quiet.

Frank signed a six-year contract worth approximately $6 million, according to sources, to be Kidd's mentor, the team's defensive coordinator and help ease Kidd into his new head coaching role. Multiple reports say he has hired attorneys and will eventually seek a buyout.

At the time of Frank's reassignment, sources told ESPNNewYork.com there was "friction" and a difference of philosophies between the two.​

 

So frank is the one being told to curb his behaviour and learn to shut up.... Interesting

Interesting that Frank was supposed to be Kidd's mentor and Kidd acted like a (13-letter word) boss toward Frank.

Don't know how people think Kidd is so cool?

He's the one who should (13-letter insult) sit down on the bench with the way his team has been playing.

He should be fired before the end of the year IMO.
