Would anyone do a trade down with Cleveland for a package that includes their 2 first round picks?

and what if there was an andrew luck or winston available??? that still doesn't guarantee anything. qb is a premium position and there is a kid available with tons of talent and potential to be elite. waiting for the sure thing is foolish because there is no such thing as a sure thing. all these kids are gambles, even the GOD QB luck hasnt proven much, but take a former playoff team to the playoffs. they are 8-5, if this division was competitve they wouldnt be a lock to make the playoffs..

weve had a top defense and a top offense almost all in the same time frame, built around an average qb and we were never really as good as we thought we were. we need to find an elite qb. take the quarterback.

lol, according to you.. who clearly knows nothing about football.

you act as if andrew luck is a sure thing... his 80 quarterback rating says otherwise.

anywho... obviously you haven't been paying attention so i'll remind you why there is no chance in hell rick takes clowney 1.1. do you remember that sam montgomery guy? you know, the one with red flags galore... the one with a questionable motor.. ya, that guy. rick used a 3rd round pick on him... and rick cut him halfway into the season. you see the light now?

    my lord you are dumb

    Okay, so question for you...

Would you prefer taking Bridgewater with the first pick or...

Trade down with Cleveland...Grab Manziel and CJ Mosley in the first round, along with an extra 2nd and 3rd round pick.

Which option gives you the best chance to win in the short and long term?

I doubt that they would give both 1st rounders bc they too have so many holes to fill, but I wouldnt mind offering a package for the #1 pick in exchange for the #5 pick, their 2nd round pick, and a conditional future (3rd or 4th) round pick.

The thing is his arm strength is not a weakness. Neither one of the scouting reports say as much. One claims his accuracy needs improvement on long passes.

I agree with that he has definitely improved tis year. But both think highly of him. One says...

    and the other says...

    Another scout says...

And there are many others who have more positives to speak of him. There is so little negative to talk about him that people have to make up things, like his hands are too small. He has only lost fumbles twice in his 3 years of college. Lineman are not knocking the football out of his hands and the football isn't any bigger in the NFL.

People say he is not strong but I watched him stiff arm three DLs and get the pass off twice in one game against UCF. I rarely see that happen once. Just the other night in a 4th and 12 situation he stiffed arm a cincy linebacker almost all of that 12 yards to get the first down. The kid is strong beyond his size.

The kid is so cool, has so many intangibles and he just keeps getting better. His TD-int ratio is phenomenal and has improved every year. He gets sacks less this year than ever before. His completion percentage is 70%. There is no reason to believe he will not keep getting better. And that includes his arm strength which I haven't hear one scout say is inadequate.

Do you realize how stupid you look? Do everyone a favor and stop posting. You have zero ability to carry on any discussion. Just stop your nonsense.

All this chatter about his ability. He has as good a chance to succeed as any QB in the draft, and has the qualities necessary to be 100 times better than Schaub. ;)

He also has ballerina legs that look like one good hit will snap them in two. :(

He most definitely doesnt have inadequate arm strength...Ive never said that. Ive said that arm strength is his weakness (compared to his other attributes). Ive also said he does not have the arm strength that is in the same category as the elites in the NFL. In my opinion, if you lack elite arm strength, it is very, very difficult to be an elite QB. Look at the current elite QBs and only Peyton does not have the arm strength that is better than Teddy's...but Peyton possesses attributes that few QBs in NFL history have ever had, so Manning makes up for it. Again, if we stay put at 1-1...Bridgewater is the answer, but I think its a complete toss up whether or not he becomes a good NFL QB.

I'd rather have Bridgewater over Clowney.

I don't really worry about injury. NFL protects their QB's, so as long as Teddy does not go all RG3 kamikazi, he will be OK.

Luck was a sure thing. He took his team to the playoffs in year 1, and clinched a division in year 2 with TY Hilton as his biggest weapon.

You must be young, because you don't look back very far. Do you remember that Mario Williams guy? That physical specimen the Texans drafted over the QB & RB, despite the suspected lack of work ethic? This years scenario is not that dissimilar.

Uh yes, I remember Mario very well... the Mario who would play with an inconsistent motor... the Mario who would literally disappear at times...

If you want to make an argument for Clowney, you should not bring up Mario Williams.

Bridgewater is as much of a sure thing as Luck.

    I guarantee it.

Bridgewater can win us the AFC South next year.

I need to stop addressing you. It's painfully obvious this is more popularity contest than player evaluation for you.

    Shame on me.
