    rumor I just read said 115m/10yrs for saban. Also the BOR holding an emergency meeting to discuss Powers' employment. Seems to me like they are making a power play to keep powers from getting in the way

    well, considering that the football program generates 100mil in revenue, investing 6mil/yr to make it stable as well as generate interest in LHN then I think it's pretty reasonable

    Wow, UT is guaranteed to win at least 2 national titles now in the next handful of years. Nobody can compete with Saban. Saban + Texas' hotbed of recruits in Austin? Yeah this is going to be crazy.

    Lots of people can compete with Saban. Of his 4 national titles, he had a loss in 3 of them. His defenses struggle against spread offenses, and he's gotten lucky to avoid spread teams in his title years. He seems like a coach built for the SEC - I wouldn't be surprised to see him have less success in the Big12.

    (that said, I still doubt any of this is true. I'd still be shocked if Saban ends up at Texas.)

    yeah Saban sucks, don't want him:rolleyes:

    but on a realistic note, I would think that once we have a vacancy (i've read rumors indicating tues-thur as the timeframe) things will move very fast. There's so much smoke right now. This week will be VERY interesting for Texas football whether we get Saban (I think we do) or not
