Ask the bench players if we missed Lin. Dude is the clear leader off the bench, and when he is on, it makes our bench very potent. For the most, the bench brigade has been meh since his absence. Was this thread really necessary?
Your a dumbass LOF then. The garm is littered with trade harden posts everyday. Your LOF filter blocks them out though.
Doesn't it have them both at negative defensive RAPM? So didn't you just provide your own facts to back up his statement?
Is Jeremy Lin better than Aaron Brooks? The answer is yes. Nothing else need be asked. Lin can be great at preventing our bench offense from stagnating, so he's important as well. And yes, our bench stagnated a lot more without Lin, but our starters have begun to find their rhythm together, so we did fine despite poor bench production during those games. That said, it's clear Parsons is much more important to the team than Lin is.
What's that got to do with his statement that Lin's a defensive liability? If he's a negative on the defensive stat you trust most, doesn't that mean he's a liability?
Or perhaps Lin has better back ups than Parsons? Given that Lin missed every game that Parsons missed it is impossible to answer that question.
Who would have thought a guy coming off the bench would have so much impact on the wins and losses. For me, it's all about Harden. If Harden is playing defense and is sharing the ball, then we are blowing out teams.
To be honest, I did kind of forget about Lin since he's been injured. Bev and especially Brooks has stepped up to the plate and are doing work. But don't let that fool you into thinking that we don't need him on this team. He gets to the bucket so much easier than Bev or Brooks does. With Bev, you rarely see him driving to the bucket looking to score. Bev just kind of bulldozes his way into the lane with his head down and then throws up a hook shot/layup similar to Brooks.
Yeah, well said. When Harden is on target on both sides, Rockets look like a solid championship team and he makes everyone better because he's playing his best.
It is much more complicated than that. Centers have the best dRAPM in the league, point guards have the worst. Lin actually rates well into the top half of defensive point guards. Bev is about average. If you want I may be able to provide you with the raw data.
Make no mistake the biggest drop off in talent is when Parsons goes to the bench. When Bev goes out Lin comes in, Asik comes in for Howard, Casspi comes in for TJones. But when parsons sits Garcia comes in. Garcia is only as good as his 3's. He has to be shooting lights out to compensate for his poor defense and rebounding. If Parsons is out and Garcia has to sub then we suffer. If Lin is healthy at least we can play some with Harden Lin Bev on the floor but without Lin Garcia gets too many minutes and he is exploited. So parsons being out hurts more than Lin but Parsons and Lin out is devastating.
Eh I honestly think we can do well without one of these player Howard, Harden, Parsons, Lin. But we can't afford to lose 3 players due to injuries at the same time. But of course we want all 4 to stay healthy.
