Is it just me or are the Warriors incredibly overrated?

    Losing Jack and Mandry hurts.

Their starting lineup is without a doubt stronger than last season, and having either Barnes or Klay come off the bench is a luxury.

However, they lost 20+ points of scoring presence. Jack is streaky and a capable playmaker, TD doesn't make up for that. Speights is nowhere near the scorer Landry is.

I agree that Jack was clutch for them handling the ball at the end of last year, and that TD doesn't make up for that. But Iggy can create a good deal of scoring opportunities for others.

Also agree that Speights isn't the scorer that Landry is. However, when Bogut is on the bench, but he can play some at the 5 instead of D. Lee, which is a huge improvement defensively. O'Neal isn't totally cached out yet, and provides some toughness on the interior as well.

Much like the Rockets, they were already a good (and improving) offensive team. Mostly needed to cover ground defensively, and they're showing signs of doing so early this season.

As much as I hate them, they are a great team.

Their defense is much improved like ours at #7, but their offense which is like 12th best.

    They are a contender IMO.

Not one game....its over the season. I think the loss of Jack and Landry outweighs the gain of iggy. Also it's not just one game against the Rockets. Out of the last five the Rockets have won four and three of them were blowouts. Also (knock on wood) the Rockets give Curry and Thompson fits for whatever reason

Losing Jack and Landry but gaining Iggy is a wash overall. The Warriors' fate is the same as last season: completely on Steph Curry.

Yes, everyone overrated them so bad before the season. We crushed those cockroaches and will continue to do so every time we play them.

Contender for what? Playoffs? There is a zero percent chance this team beats Miami or Indiana, and an almost negligeable chance they get that far. Mark Jackson is a mental midget too.

Warriors are a completely different team with Iggy in the lineup. He basically is their perimeter D, pass first point guard, glue guy, and energy guy all rolled into one.

No they're not. Their defense is a joke (aside from Iggy), their bench is too thin now, and Harden is a more complete--and more durable--player than Curry.

Yes, I think they are overrated. As I said in the gambling thread (while slightly embarrassing myself ), I don't think even them can keep shooting this well from the outside. They were over 45% from 3 then, now it's somewhat more sustainable 42.7% but still really high. (They shot 40.3% last year). Klay Thompson isn't that good.

Bogut looks like he has regressed some. Could be the constant injuries but imo he hasn't been the player he was in Milwaukee.

Iggy has been really solid, though. Perfect situation for him.

Their defense with Iggy was close to being top 5. A lot better than the Rockets. Bogut is elite defensively. Having Iggy lets Klay play the 2nd best perimeter threat which he's good at. It makes everyone's role easier.

Jarrett Jack kept taking the ball out of Curry's hands and going for stepback shots in the clutch. When Iggy is in there they actually have a pass first guard who can create with Curry and Klay coming off screens. Iggy is such a better fit than Jack ever was.

Plus they're still integrating Harrison Barnes who was injured earlier. Draymond Green gives some of what Landry did (better defense less offense). Jermaine O'Neal shockingly is a better backup C than Festus. Marc Jackson should stop the bull**** O'Neal post ups in the 4th quarter though.

What are the "rated" to be over rated? Espn has them ranked at #11 as does Yahoo, which seems about right to me.

I was referring more to the spoken word....when "experts" talk about the warriors not power rankings.

I thought the loss of Jack and Laundry really went under the radar and once they got AI they made it seem like they will be able to overcome those losses but I never saw it

I went from thinking they were overrated before the season to thinking they were contenders after 2 really great games (with Iggy) against the Thunder. Now, I'm not to sure what to think. With Iggy, they are a different team, yes, but when you are playing with 5 of your 6 best players and all of sudden you realize you need 6 of 6 to compete with everyone does that make you a contender? Rockets have had multiple injuries to our best players and are still afloat.

One thing is for sure: The Media has made me dislike the Warriors intensely. I find them super annoying.

They have had one of the toughest schedules in the NBA. In contrast, the Rockets have had one of the easiest(for a WC team). I would wait another month before truly judging the teams.
