Is it just me or are the Warriors incredibly overrated?

I get that Iggy is out, but it seems like nationally the Warriors are nationally overrated. The Rockets were 3-1 against them last year, two of those wins were laughers. Now this year the Rockets blow them out again, yet it seems like the Warriors get lauded as an elite team while the Rockets get dismissed. Am I the only one?

A little bit. One of the underrated things about them those is the high percentage they shoot according to the amount of contested shots they take. Very few of their shots are open and in the flow of the offense. Most are highly contested, yet they still hit a good amount of them.

Very deadly offensive team from the perimeter but sometimes struggle to really have an equal opportunity offense. Lee and Bogut often get left out leaving defenses forcing contested shots from the perimeter.

The perfect coach & system for this team would be Jerry Sloan & the old Utah Jazz offense. Not sure if David Lee is the perfect big for that system. He's more of a low post offensive big instead of a high pick and role big.

Still... when these guys get hot from the perimeter, there are few teams that can shoot the way they do. Are they overrated... yes, but should be taken seriously.... yes.

I don't think so. They finished with a better record than us last year, beat their first round opponent in the Nuggets, and put up a decent fight against the Spurs in the second round, who were the best in the west. All that was before they even added Iggy. They have the best shooter in the NBA who can create shots for himself and others, an all star power forward, and a bunch of young talent. I think if this team stays healthy (which is a HUGE if given Bogut and Curry's histories) it is gonna be a very tough opponent come playoff time.

they are overrated but you're exaggerating. The warriors have never been called an elite team...

With AI, they are a better team than Rockets.

I think they are very good. Iggy being out hurts them a lot. He's their best perimeter defender and backup point guard.

They also need a third big behind D. Lee and Bogut.

The national media doesn't like us b/c our flaws are much more apparent. (Can't shoot free throws, Harden's bad defense, Omer Asik's dark cloud) But we are definitely a better team. With better coaching we could be 18-3.

Ive actually heard elite put next to their name....but mostly it was people putting them as high as the 3rd seed in the West which i just dont buy...and the same "Experts" putting the Rockets 5th or 6th....also the difference between the Rockets and Warriors last year was only about 4 games (dont have it in front of me so its just a ballpark number) so I dont think they were that far apart as far as team ability. Also they played the Nuggets and Coach Karl who is notorious for losing in the first round, so I dont think the gap was that great

They are doing exactly what the Rockets were doing last year. Young likable stars, high 3 point usage and makes, exciting uptempo basketball. But I think they get the nod as a better team or at least more likable than the Rockets because they are from Cali. But the Rockets are the better and more balanced team. David Lee is solid but if the threes aren't falling for the Dubs, they will not win.

I was at the game and got to see first hand what happens when the "Splash Brothers" arent hitting from outside.Theyre an average team when those two dont hit shots, granted Stephan Curry very rarely has a game like this and is far and away the best shooter in the NBA, but the Warriors are very much a live by the three die by the three team, while even though the Rockets shoot alot of threes, they also drive alot and can win without the three ball. I just feel like the Warriors are kinda one dimensional

They lost there second best player in the offseason.

Jarret Jack was nails for them off the bench and was a huge reason they were who they were.

This team was already deep with Barnes/Thompson.

They didn't need Iggy as much as they needed Jack IN MY OPINION.

Overrated, and they're not going anywhere with Mark Jackson as the coach.

They will revert to the mean, which for them is likely better than how they are playing now.

They are the mirror of the Blazers, who will come back to earth at some point. Lillard (43%), Matthews (49%), and Batum (42%) simply cannot continue to shoot like they have from 3.

What I was going to say. Don't bother looking at last year -- this is a pretty different team. Maybe they'd be better with Iggy playing, but him being injured really is part of value proposition too. How often is this going to recur in the next couple of seasons? If he happens to be out again in the playoffs, they defintiely got worse over the offseason, not better.

Not overrated at all. They're elite defensively when Iggy plays. They can hit shots with any other team in the NBA. Judging them over the one game they played against the Rockets is kinda ridiculous.

Last year they pushed the Spurs until Steph's ankle started becoming a problem. Iggy adds another dimension to the team. He is the backup PG and distributor. He's also the defensive lynchpin that allows everyone else to excel in their role.

This is the first time Iggy has been really hurt in his entire career. Of course if he has chronic injuries randomly out of the blue despite being a physical specimen the Warriors will lose some value.

I think they may be underrated (in the national media) defensively, which kind of levels things out.

Some advanced stats suggest they are playing much better defense than I would have guessed by looking at that roster on paper.
