Although I love the idea of play T. Young next to Dwight Howard; I can't deny the potential of a Dwight Howard and a Stretch center. Howard is known for abusing PF and undersize center. With another big body who can shoot 3 it can create match up nightmare for opposing team. Spencer is on a 2 yrs $13mil contract with 6.5 each year; might be even be able to get a conditional draft pick out of it.

PS: IMHO I think having T jones and T Young is redundant.

Spencer is going to post 17-19 PER but he also can't defend well

but what an offensive weapon that is not an allstar

Not to mention it is very difficult for Pf to guard him at the post. He is very reliable with his post up game. A set shooter with a quick release. If the center slide out to guard him just imagine the fun Dwight would have against PF in the paint.

I don't think Jones is going to take coming off the bench well and he's doing very well so no thanks. Also, it was reported we want a young guy and Hawes is not that in terms of age nor years in the NBA.

Errrrr..... Hawes is listed as 25 years old..... same as Lin, Parsons, Beverley, Casspi and only 1 year older than Harden and Motiejunas

Spencer Hawes is 25. Besides Hawes plays center; I am sure T Jones wouldn't sacrifice too much playing time. Spencer Hawes can bring something to Houston that T Jones cannot. I still remember when we use to have Yao on Okur when we played against the Jazz. Everytime Okur goes to the top I held my breath not only because I know he can make it but because the paint was wide open.

In addition anything makes Dwight Howard looks good goes and I think Spencer Hawes is going to make D Ho look really good.

Yeah I'd really like Hawes... Sixers may be more open to trading him if they think he's going to walk away in free agency anyways. Rockets, on the other hand, might not want to give up too much for him if we think he's going to walk from us this summer.

Money wise, we can trade Asik straight up for him.

I'm not entirely sure why the Sixers would want to do this though... If you expect Noel to come back next year and grow your core around your 2014 pick... How does Asik fit into that?

It's always nice to an abundance of promising centers. They could always trade one of them for pieces down the line.

I'd rather have Hawes + the Pelicans' first rounder.

But yeah, we need a backup C back for Asik and the Sixers and Hawes are one of the few teams that could actually give that to us.

I will take the defensive rebounding and it does not matter if he can't stop opposing backup Cs one on one

If the Rockets can some how manage to get Luol Deng or T. Young AND Spencer Hawes I will be a very happy person. Because we would have no weakness.
