Gonna watch out for the Rockets to try and steal either 2pat or Vasquez here in the coming months. Ujiri will probably look to move them and maybe even waive Patterson if they know teams will pick him up and it can save them a little cash. Doesn't look like a player they are gonna want to bring back next year anyways. Might be able to steal him away for a second rounder... Maybe one of the crappy ones acquired in the TRob trade ironically.
I think Clutchfans as a whole needs to understand the difference between a truly bad player and a solid player who is on a terrible contract...
In the age of the salary cap and luxury tax, having a merely competant player on a giant contract has far more dire consequences than employing a lousy player, 9 times out of 10 (truly bad players on big contracts are generally a rarity). This is especially true when you end up asking the aforementioned competant player to take on a greater responsibility on the court than he is likely equipped to handle.
Now that I think about it that trade makes absolute no sense for Toronto. What does make sense is something like Patterson + lowry for Lin straight up. Rockets get a serviceable 4 in Patrick, Toronto gets Lin for rebuild around Valuncianas + huge asian population in toronto.
Guessing Vivek is going with heart instead of stats and believes Gay on the perimeter and Boogie inside will help sell more tickets and make his team more competitive. He probably just believes Sacto is the right situation for Gay and as you said, the price to acquire Gay is small for the most part.
While searching for Kyle Lowry, Found this gem by our friend Kelly Dwyer, http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...-houston-rockets-continue-202826985--nba.html Fortunes in the NBA can change pretty fast; Maybe the Gay trade will net Toronto some very valuable assets. And life as a Rocket fan is pretty good right now
Sorry, I wanted to publicly state my love and support for our mentally ill friend what. Number crunchers are destroying all he cares for! We must be here for him, or Kevin Durant wins!
I think it was because McHale preferred Dragic but I may be wrong. That losing streak that dropped us out of the playoff race probably had something to do with it too. Didn't Lowry say something in an interview like we got outcoached or did I just imagine that?
Wasn't it to do with the fact that he kept Dragic as the starter? Then the team collapsed during the homestretch nekminit 9th pick? Like I don't blame McHale for keeping Dragic as the starter, he was playing at a very high level and Lowry had lost alot of weight..
I did not know much about that. I only paid attention to the Feigen article where it he wrote that several players/half the team (Kevin Martin, Lowry, Morris?) started a mini mutiny (wasn't really happy with the coach).
I can't believe 2k gave him the finisher skill. No he has not. The only more clutch shot statistic Gay has is attempts. Durant has more clutch baskets and the same number of game winners, but more playoff ones. Ray Allen has more game winners baskets than Kobe, Melo and Durant. It doesn't mean anything because most of them were open looks because they were doubling guys like Kobe, Melo and Durant.
