hmmm....... Young/Hawes for Asik/Dmo/Greg Smith/NY 2nd rounder Bev/Lin/Brooks Harden/Garcia Parsons/Young Jones/Casspi Dwight/Hawes That's a great team
I think DMo is backup center; TYoung probably won't be playing much center; also DMo didn't exactly play bad; and...he's still 22
He plays bad anytime we force him to play center. He's not one. He's a pf, and even a sf before he's a center. NOt physcial enough to paly center in the league and not a good enuff rebounder.
If that trade happens you could potentially use TJones a valuable trade piece. Might be able to get something interesting with a TJones/Lin package.
Dmo is 23 and quickly turning 24. Dmo did not play at all. Those 5 minutes in garbage time does not really count.
Why is everyone so quick in wanting to get rid of T Jones before he's even fully developed? He's a very unique player, and very unique players tend to be mismatch nightmares. Not to mention the guy fits in outstandingly well with our starters. Jones, Parsons, Harden, and Dwight are almost completely untradeable in my mind.
Asik to 76ers Turner, Canaan, and Rockets 1st round pick to Bulls Deng to Rockets Howard/Smith/Dmo Jones/Casspi/Covington Deng/Parsons/Brewer Harden/Garcia Bev/Lin/Brooks
Not understanding why so many are hating the trade for TY... When Parsons was out we sucked hard and TY could be huge by being able to play both the PF/SF position. He also gives you a strong veteran presence on the 2nd team and plays decent defense. Basically, he gives you a lot of upside, it's not always about taking over TJ spot. If TJ keeps playing the way he is, then cool... If not we have someone that could step in and take up the slack. T_Man
why do we fans have such an inflated worth for our players? why would philly trade turner for asik? still trying to figure out why they would want asik in the first place.
At this point I don't see too many *Available* players that would be a huge upgrade over anybody in the starting lineup. Ultimately the starters right now are clearly top-notch offensively and can get it done defensively when they buy in. Would bringing in Young, Turner, or Deng be worth jeopardizing chemistry? If it's me I'm looking exclusively for young promising talent (to either develop or come off the bench for now) or picks. I guess if you can get a good backup center that would work out. The way I see it, Young would interfere with Jones' development. Turner would be upset about coming off the bench, or would end up starting which leaves Parsons with a bad taste in his mouth heading into contract negotiations. Same situation with Deng.
Agreed. Don't see how Thad Young upgrades our team in a major way. I'd rather give Jones those minutes.
