You can't blame DMO. He is s good post up player but we're not running plays for him and getting him the ball in the low post. All he does on O is set screens and shoot the 2 ball which he is not yet good at
There are lots of people on this very board that want him to play the 5 and swear he is the answer there after Asik is gone. We want D. Mo to get minutes and he is auditioning for them right now. It doesn't matter what position he is playing, he needs to have more positive moments. T. Jones was playing some center several games back and he had moments even though that isn't his position. D. Mo needs to take advantage and seize the moment.
Just saying, the games you're referring to are games Asik was playing on the second unit that looked so good. They've been bad ever since he went out with his supposed injury.
With DMo it`s mostly a mental/instincts problem. Why do fans like him? Well he is a legit 7 footer with real quick feet and supposedly a good jump shot. His post moves look elite when they work, he is one of the fastest 7 footers under the basket right now. But he continuesly looks lost out there. He has to think about everything he does and thus acts a second late. And he has no defensive instincts at all. So when it works he looks like a great talents. But on most nights he looks like he belongs to the Vipers or to Europe. If he can`t figure it out soon, he will be gone.
I wouldn't even say he's a solid backup. he's not bad, but the rockets are just a talented team. Besides brewer he's the worst active player on our roster.
