Not bad - avg. user rating of 4.47 and a hiphopdx score of 3.5 stars. Liked the bars they put up as his star verses, so will listen to the album tonight.

    Ex:
“This is war gentlemen / My flow is filled with more venom than George Zimmerman / In his car chillin’ with a loaded 44, tucked into his draws fidgetin’ / Itchin’ to find a brand new casket to stuff *****s in…”

This immediately reminded me of Eminem.

New Childish Gambino album is perfection.

I'm not a huge hip-hop guy anymore (mostly because quality of most hip-hop lately), but I think Gambino's album is AOTY.

Highly recommend you listen while reading the screenplay and watching the short movie.

It's all connected, and it's mind blowing.

    Agreed. He's very underrated.

I still don't understand the hype with Hopsin. Dude has nothing to say, and when he does, it's like recycled early Eminem lyrics. He tries to start beef for publicity because he's not on the same level as some of the bigger cats.

I'm patiently waiting for another Nas album.

But, my favorite lyricist (Because of his honesty, word play, battles) is Joe Budden. "All Love Lost" is coming soon.

To me, he is the most underrated rapper in hip hop. He was the best response to Kendrick's control and his albums always hit a powerful mark, even if they don't sell. It's a shame when Joe and Slaughterhouse don't see the sales that Tyga, Chief Keef and 2-Chainz get.

    One of my favorites:

i think young dude is nice, i remember when i first listened to his mixtape "deadbeats and lyrics" or some **** like that i went in with the mindset to hate. my opinion changed after listening to him.. sadly without a big record most will never get to hear this kid.. his style is just too diferent and against the grain of the music people his same are are making.. he is an mc period.. while high school kids continue to "turn up" to hannah montanna hannah montana, this dude is trying to keep hip-hop pure..

That is one Danny Brown song I can handle. The majority of his stuff just hurts my ears.

He's unique, but I think some of it is a gimmick. Just not my style.

Almost of all of it is older ATCQ/Busta tracks, only a handful of new tracks.

You know, I pretty much agree. The song I posted is the first track on the album, and as I started listening I was excited that I finally found my rap album of the year...and then as the album went on I kept getting more and more discouraged. :(

I usually like no more than 3-5 rap albums a year. Unless I'm forgetting something, I think I've only liked maybe two rap albums this year (Run the Jewels and Ghostface).

I just don't comprehend 99% of today's rap music (these A$APs/Drakes/Danny Browns/Chance the Rappers, etc.). To me it sounds like more of a spectacle than music. I have no idea how it's supposed to make me feel (unless it's supposed to make me feel stressed). Thanks a lot modern rap, for making me that old guy who says current music sounds like nothing but noise.
