Wow the refs in the Colts-Bengals game are straight up blind. Just gifted the Bengals 7 points before halftime.

 

To an extent, this is true with some wind, rain, etc. But excessive weather like this just adds a huge element of luck. It's not the way football "used to be played" or was "meant to be played". It's just the way football was and is played when you get freak snowstorms.

 

I'm sorry but I just don't like watching games like this. Don't care if it's "the way football was meant to be played". I just find this fairly boring.

Of course the game used to be played this way, it still is in cities without a domed stadium.

What I was saying was that when football was first played, there were no indoor climate controlled stadiums. The games were played in the outdoors in whatever weather conditions were present, whether it be sunshine, rain, or snow. The thought of stopping a game because of snow would have been ridiculous. If the fans can get to the stadium, then the players can take the field.
