Honestly if I was morey I'd try for draft picks and young players regardless of position. Try to win in terms of assets then reevaluate our situation by the deadline.

Because I am not sure there is a trade for an upgrade available. Is Thad young really better than jones? Is rondo 100% .... Will he be this year?

Plus if we get picks and young assets that opens up the field of what teams we can trade with. Instead of only dealing with teams that need or want asik. Those teams my not have what we want. But all teams want young up and coming players and draft picks

Crash if you ever be a coach or any close to basketball it would be disaster for any team. You compare D12 with Kanter, wtf really? D12 can jump as high as any center in this league and Kanter is overrated bunch of crap who will be playing in Europe or China in next couple of years. He's such a loser that beein starting center can't rebound 5 balls in half of the games he play.

They can give us Jefferson, they can give us Biedrins. And in 3-way deal we can get one of them + 1round pick + bunch of 2nd rounders. 1y player who will free our cap space next year is what we need. We don't get any good player for Asik this december, there is no chance we get any help for our roster either. We need expiring contract and 1st/2nd round picks. And Utah with Boston can give us that in 3-way deal.

You are nuts if you the tanking Jazz who most likely will get a top 5 pick will give us their 1st pick for Asik.

why not on dec 20 at 12:01 am? I'd settle for a top 5 pick in next years draft for asik. or in the next 3 y3ars.

Boston 1st pick + two Jazz 2nd picks (or one) + Expriring contract seems legit.

Not my job to create this tho. But I imagine Jazz trading someone to Boston (2nd round pick seems legit too) and we give up DMo (or any other asset) + giving away Asik to Jazz.

Phili will definitely happen if we cant get a 3rd all star. Phili will give us Young and the rights of that other turkish center( that we traded to phili) back to us (forgot his name) and a draft pick

Can we take a moment to talk about draft picks. Teams that are doing a serious rebuild are not going to send us a first round pick for Omer. He's a great player, but he's a guy you add to an already good team. This is a draft where there should be a lot (relatively) of franchise players. Now, there may be some franchise that *thinks* they're going to make the playoffs that we can con into giving us a pick, but I don't think Boston or Philly are going to part with theirs.

The Rockets need another WING PLAYER, thus Evan Turner! Rockets get Evan Turner and N.O's #1 pick, for Omer Asik!

Greg Smith is ready to come back, he's going to be our backup 5. with D-Mo as the swing 4/5, depending on the matchup. Turner is a playmaker and a good defender. He will be a mix w/Lin in the back court, giving us a 2nd unit of Lin, Turner, Garcia, Casspi, D-Mo and Smith. Also, Camby will be available in January.

It seems like a rebuilding team would be unlikely to give up a lottery pick (New Orleans would be a good target if they didn't already trade theirs since they think they are a playoff team). But maybe teams would be more open to a potential swap as part of the trade:

Asik for Milsap/Young/Ilyasova/J. Green/etc. caliber player and right to swap picks in 2014 draft.

If you're a gambling man and think Portland will have a major injury or slump, they'd be a good asset building trade partner for a future superstar trade (with very little downgrade to the Rockets):

Asik for Robin Lopez, Meyers Leonard, CJ McCollum, and unprotected 2014 1st round pick.

Call me crazy, and he might not be the "shooter" we're looking for, but I have some interest in Amare.

He has had injuries, but when he has been in shape, he is still capable of 20-10 a game. Also, he is more than able to hit the jumper off a pick and roll. He doesn't get those opportunities in NY because their offense is all the same: Melo does everything.

Amare is just left as a garbage man. He's unhappy with his role in NY and he's good friends with Dwight.

I think he has two more years on his contract, but if we got him while he's healthy, we'd also have a trading chip next year with an expiring.

I don't know how the numbers would work, but Omer +DMo/RB for Amare.

I included DMo because he is not going to be the second coming of Luis Scola or Dirk, and Terrance Jones has secured his role. I'd take him any day over Dmo, even when he's not playing well. I hate DMo's attitude on the court and lackadaisical play.

Thaddeus Young looks good, too, but I like Amare as a high risk/high reward option.

LOL at some of the trades you lot are suggesting.

The trade is going to happen with a team trying to get into playoff and is missing a center to do so. Not to Jazz, or any team that's clearly tanking.

Asik to Boston for Courtney Lee and a draft pick.

In the West, I think New Orleans is a possible destiny; but not in exchange of Anderson. Stiemsma + Rivers, or draft pick. Fill it with expirings like Amundson, Lance Thomas, Brian Roberts, Darius Miller...

Also the Lakers. Woth aother team involved, since they dont have draft picks to give. I guess Sacre would be included, and maybe Wesley Johnson, Xavier Henry...

Courtney Lee is seriously underrated when he gets consistent minutes and shots. I was upset when we traded him.

I don't want anything to do with Amundson, if we're talking about the same guy. From stories from NeNe, he is known racist in the league.

Philly owns N.O's 2014 #1 Draft Pick, along w/their own and Evan Turner has a favorable contract. In addition, Philly's GM loves Asik.
