    I agree.

    Here is how it would play itself out:

    1) Omer Asik for a first round pick and a fairly large expiring contract, on Dec 19;
    2) Jeremy Lin for a first round pick and a fairly large expiring contract, either on 12/19 or on 2/20;
    3) Minnesota is looking like they're lottery-bound once again come mid-February;
    4) Consequently, Kevin Love makes it clear that he won't re-sign;
    5) Morey trades the two picks acquired on 12/19, plus some other picks, plus Terrence Jones, maybe the draft rights to the Greek kid, along with the expiring contracts acquired on 12/19, for Kevin Love. Chandler Parsons may be included in this deal.

    Not saying that this is what will happen but I believe this is Morey's dream scenario. It's not out of the question, IMO. Love-Harden-Howard might be good enough to beat Miami this season.

    Celtics maybe...big 3+1..rondo would be fine.

    entry and lob passes coming from every direction to dwight who can finish. I laugh at some post...he doesn't need to score we have harden, parsons and Howard for that.he need to facilitate at the level he did before and play great defense. All this while scoring himself in transition, hustle plays and steals.

    rondo and onlyk or a pick would be nice..just a thought.

    Once again, Parsons isn't going anywhere.

    rondo, love?? man we got some dreamers on here.

    Outside of Houston, asik's just another backup center to rest of the league. We'll be lucky if we can get a couple of 1st rounders(protected) or a decent rotational player for him, now that's reality.

    I'm not saying what the Rockets will get for Asik, but you are wrong, Asik is more than a backup center to most of the league.

    You're just wrong.

    But that's your right. You have the right. To be wrong.

    Asik would lift certain teams---sadly, too many of them in the Western Conference---to mega-contender. Not because he's so elite. But rebounds and defense for Dallas, Portland, OKC, Atlanta. Those teams know that Asik is valuable.

    Fixed.

    EDIT:

    Something about Morey and "accumulating assets":

    According to nba draft.net, the Rockets get the Knicks' 2nd rounder.

    That is currently pick 32 in the 2014 draft. Not bad at all.

    If we could add, say, a 1st rounder from Boston....from this draft, well....

    Atlanta should not be mentioned in a line with DAL,POR and OKC.
    They are worse than those and in the EC. Even with Asik.

    Asik is a huge trade chip. Describing him as a backup is either trolling or an admission of ignorance. He is not an all star, but he is a difference maker. Adding him to the right roster can elevate a team from dark horse to legit contender. The problem is that Morey probably isn't eager to help a WC team and no WC is eager to help the Rockets, so both sides would want the better end of the deal. That still leaves the East, but the East is a mess, so the number of potential trade partners drops even further. Something will get done, either for a vet like Millsap or a scrub and first round pick, but there's no doubt that Asik's pouting and unprofessional behavior has made Morey's job more difficult. If it ends up being a pick, look out, because Morey is swinging for the fences at the deadline.

    People really get on the court value, and trade value in a deal mixed up. Right now, sure, every team in the NBA would LOVE to have Asik on their team. However that doesn't mean that he's really as great of a trade chip as people on here might be led to believe.

    There are so few teams that do not have a long term starting center locked in, and no team will bring him in if they do not plan on making him the starter. You are looking at 5 or 6 teams at best that could bring him in and be a sure fire upgrade, and of those 5 or 6 teams you have to sift through that teams ability to give you a decent trade package back, and you have to also figure out whether or not you want to upgrade that team as well if they are a conference rival.

    So while Asik has value, it doesn't necessarily mean he's in high demand the way the Rockets need him to be to get equal value for him back. More than likely, just like in the TRob deal, the Rockets might have to take back much less than Asik's true value.

    Parsons walks on water around here and people "THINK" he's untouchable. He fits good with the team tho. But I don't believe Morey considers Parsons untouchable just because fans around here do.
