Noels has texas ties and is a player with a lot of upside but no proven talent....Turner is a hybrid guard that can play 3 front court positions and defend. Can then package both for love, Aldridge or whoever.

    Pipe dream.

Philly is going to sacrifice their future for Asik.

Basically Asik for two high first round picks. I like Asik but this is not going to happen. Perhaps they should add MCW too ;) Please be a bit realistic.

Olynk is nowhere near the value of a draft pick. His value right now is probably less than Jones or Donuts.

We're trying to get khump and 2 picks out of Boston.

    Maybe we can get:

    Humphries & Faverani & 1 or 2 picks

    for

    Asik & Brewer or Moteijunas

I have been advocating the Cavs deal because they have a lot of first rounders piled up. To make the money match, the deal would almost certainly have to include Varejao, which is not bad at all as he has an expiring with a team option.

Somehow I have a feeling that the Cavs are in for a bigger move and I could foresee a bigger move involving a third team like the Knicks. One thing is for sure. The Cavs would love to get Asik.

Why? Varajao is the same player.

Bynum/Varejao are slowly but steadily looking better each week. Their big glaring need right now is a well shooting wing that plays some defense. Waiters/picks + Clark (expiring) for Afflalo is probably the type of deal I suspect they are looking for.

Asik to Boston for Courtney Lee and draft pick.

Milwaukee is also a likely destiny.

In the West, I think New Orleans is a possible destiny; but not in exchange of Anderson. Stiemsma + Rivers. Or draft pick. Fill it with expirings like Amundson, Lance Thomas, Brian Roberts, Darius Miller...

Also, Lakers. Another team involved, since they dont have draft picks. I guess Sacre would be included. Maybe Wesley Johnson, Xavier Henry...

Those are the 4 more likely destinys for Asik, to me.

    What about.....

Asik & Jones for Milsap & 1 round pick.

    Then.

Lin & Brewer & 2x 1st round picks for Rondo

    Rondo/Bev
    Harden
    Parsons/Garcia
    Milsap/Casspi
    Howard/Smith/D-Mo/Camby

Pretty good defense/offense team! WCF or NBA finals bound team I think.

Although the Bynum/Varejao combo are doing good work right now, either of them cannot be a long term plan for the Cavs because of age and health reasons. They need a starting (defensive) center that can be trusted to perform the whole season for years. Brown is a defense first coach. Next draft does not have good centers.

For the Rockets Varejao would be a seasoned backup center with great rebounding skills. He would not have a problem to come from the bench and it (limited minutes) would keep him healthy. His contract is reasonable and if he does not pan out, he will not become a trading problem.

If he comes with a first round pick or two or Waiters/Zeller and a pick, I think both sides could be happy.

It looks very nice. Rondo represent the type of PG that the Rockets need. A good distributor and co-ordinator. However, I have some problems with Rondo. He comes from a long injury and nobody knows in what shape and will he be the same again. I also have some reservations about his character. Boston was also a slow team and I'm not sure how he would manage the high speed Rockets. With two "touchy" stars like Dwight and Harden, he may cause some locker room problems that are counterproductive. Doc had hard time dealing with it. McHale is not built for that.

The draft has Embiid, although he'll probably be too high for the Cavs. Or not, given their luck.

Anyway, does Asik come off the bench behind Bynum? Does Bynum come off the bench? I don't think either of them will like the idea.

I think an Asik to the Cavs trade would be more likely if Bynum was in the deal instead of Varejao, but Bynum keeps playing better and better.

This is Bynum over the last 4 games, by the way:

With the emergence of John Henson, it seems like Milwaukee may make one of their bigs available. Everyone here is talking about Ilyasova but I'm thinking more about Larry Sanders. Prior to starting last season, he played well in a sixth man role. Having Sanders come off the bench would give us another paint protector locked in for the 3 seasons. At 11million/per season, he doesn't come cheap. However, if Milwaukee were to make him available, I wouldn't hesitate to deal Asik for Sanders+1st round pick. What do you guys think?

Not a bad idea especially if the 1st round pick becomes a top 5 lottery and we can draft someone like the Devil (Dante Exum).

Sanders could also back up the 4 spot as well... But I doubt Milwaukee is going to give up that pick. I doubt any team is going to give up their pick in this coming draft if they're a projected high pick lottery team. But I would take The Alphabet and Sanders for Asik.

Bynum is a great centre. When he was healthy, one of the very best. However, IMO he can hardly keep it up until the all star break. Therefore, Asik should not be too concerned about it. Sadly, because Bynum really is a great BB player.

Sanders is toxic right now. He's got 4 years left and he's let his on-court stupidity drift off court. He'd be a great backup center to Dwight. The problem is you can't move him quickly. We need guys that we can flip again in 60 days. There's precious few teams that would be interested in Sanders.

Well, I don't think the Cavs GM would give up draft picks+Varejao and then tell Asik "hey, you'll be our backup but don't worry, Bynum will get injured soon".
