With the exception of Ginobili (who doesn't play that many minutes anymore due to to physical reasons), there is a vast efficiency difference between Harden and those others. they would never score the same number of points as him on the same number of shots.

the charge was the funniest. So much is wrong with the nba that they call that every time.

James grew a lot after he came off the bench and ran the show while 2 top 10 NBA players followed, and killed off the one of the deepest spurs teams ever that was dominating the West in the playoffs. He also subsequently fell apart on what might of been the brightest stage for a NBA playoffs in history: Lebron's Redemption.

Do you remember all the clamor, all the tension? So many non-basketball fans even tuned it because of how big that stage was. And he failed. Miserably. He was forced to make a fight or flight decision and play alongside his teammates and arch enemies for the Olympics. He was forced to grow there too.

He probably decided he was very capable, and wanted to have the full reigns (or at least a larger share) so he could redeem his ownself for failing so hard in the moment. Presti didn't offer Harden 'holding the reigns' money. He didn't even offer him his market value. He put up 26/5.5/5.5 on great efficiency as the #1 option on the 4th youngest squad in history to make the playoffs.
He left the comfort zone, and was handed the reigns he wanted. He grew during his arrival period. He was forced to grow again.

He will grow more. I don't know exactly how or in what capacity, but he will. I'm kind of thinking James would have been able to sustain his growth for longer (remember he started the season very well) if he could have magically been outside of the whole Dwight recruitment/excitment.

If I were to hypothetically tackle a project and want to gain the most personal growth from it, the last thing I'd probably do is grab a talented co-worker to share the load.

Perhaps he took some things for granted and wasn't prepared to go balls to the wall with a great team for an entire season. He'll learn balance in time.

Just in time for Christmas! Order your 'new' Haren jersey.
***Notice his name has no 'D' in it, just like his game
