I'm guessing (hoping) that's his girl's nails. ---- Vita remote play: So I tried it out last night using the typical wifi connection, and it was a bit laggy (I have a G band wireless router from Uverse, so not the best connection). Then I went into the settings and turned on direct connection between the PS4/Vita. This is where the magic began to happen; everything I do on the vita is reflected to the PS4 immediately. It's pretty awesome. The only downside so far is that it maps the triggers to the touchpad on the back of the vita. I definitely don't like that as of now, I wish I could switch the bumpers back there. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. Very cool little trick, I had no interest in a PS vita (in fact I nearly got a 3DS instead) but I think this will get a lot of run when the wife wants to watch TV. I have a Wii U already so I'm not a stranger to remote play but this is a lot more interesting imo. I say this because the Vita is made to be a stand alone system, whereas the Wii U Gamepad was built (and works exclusively) with the Wii U. This is really impressive stuff technology wise.
i don't like any of the games out otherwise I'd actually consider. Titan Fall looks cool but its for the one.
That pretty much matches my impressions. Some games will remap their controls (e.g., Warframe), but those doesn't really work well either at times (e.g., Warframe). It is doable in some games, but I would like a little more control over that if possible. Or maybe games that take this into consideration a bit more. I've been meaning to try Remote Play while away from the house, via LTE. Kind of a worst case scenario. I only had once chance though, and apparently I mistakenly turned off my PS4 or something (said it couldn't find it). I might try that again sometime soon. I don't expect it to be great, but hopefully it will be acceptable for some games/modes. I am pretty happy with the feature overall. Especially nice to have when you have friends/family/etc. over, and you don't want to hog the TV while playing your PS4. I felt so awesome when I realized I could do this over the Thanksgiving break.
I want to try over LTE, but I'm not even going to bother until I get away from Uverse. The upstream here might as well not exist. One thing I'm concerned about is there are seriously 0 games for Vita. I don't want to trade it in for a 3ds, cus the remote play is why I got it...but there's seriously slim pickings. It's either JRPGs or games that I'd consider more kiddy than Nintendo...
I have underutilized my Vita. I got it for the free PS+ games, and that PC game streaming app (which I never even got, but I convinced myself it was something I needed to try). I do want to play Tearaway, though I know what you mean. Somewhat tempted to (re)play P4 Golden, but that is a JRPG. Not much else. Vita is basically indie games (usually playable on PS3/PS4 too), remote play games, and maybe a few quirky games here and there. Not a great device for traditional handheld games, though you can maybe justify buying/using it for the first 2 things it offers.
Anyone else giving resogun any burn? I find it quite addicting and fun. Would like to try a co op but cant seem to get a game to connect. Also...vita for the mfwin.
